Sankey was too focused on media contracts to worry about official incompetence. That barn play at the goal line should have been TD barn or TD UGA….it was a close call, and I could see it either way.
But UGA ball inside the 1?
That’s an SEC ref call, wimping out in the clutch.
How did we ever reach this level of incompetence?
You can't cure stupid. This is why the whole SEC officiating office needs to be dismantled.Ok, let’s recap that goal line play. Not only does Auburn not get a touchdown…Georgia doesn’t either. Instead the ball is placed at the one yard line and is Georgia’s ball. Incredible!
Autry's crew sez "Hold my beer....."That has to be the worst officiated 2 minutes of sports I’ve ever witnessed!
I didn't hear the explanation but I assume the play was called dead (whistle) before the UGA player took off down the field.Ok, let’s recap that goal line play. much joy can be found in wondering why uga fans do stuffI keep wondering why UGA fans preferred him over Carson Beck.
If they're not stupid they are corrupt neither one goodYou can't cure stupid. This is why the whole SEC officiating office needs to be dismantled.
Skoal can. You can get a good roll out of those it they land right. This is the rare (only?) case where I actually agree with the awbies on something. Just glad we didn't see it melt down to a tennersaw level and batteries, ketchup and mustard bottles get tossed on the field. There may have been a pouch of Redman tossed, though.
I am all broken up over it too.Auburn did get screwed tho
I could understand that if the ball touched the ground or the player was down but that wasn’t the case. It was a live ball.I didn't hear the explanation but I assume the play was called dead (whistle) before the UGA player took off down the field.
they got hosed on that play. reverse voodooThis is the rare (only?) case where I actually agree with the awbies on something. Would be about the 100th time an SEC official prematurely blew a play dead... just saying...I could understand that if the ball touched the ground or the player was down but that wasn’t the case. It was a live ball.
Yep.. the left side ref came running in to spot the ball and was digging in the pile while the uga guy ran downfield.I didn't hear the explanation but I assume the play was called dead (whistle) before the UGA player took off down the field.
This has to be frustrating for gator fans. On the one hand your team is suddenly playing well but on the other a coach you wanted fired 2 years ago will be retained.FLA intercepts TAMU in endzone.
He was so close to earning a fine during that interview as he started to say “that was one of the…”. He stopped there and composed himself pretty well. Just once though I wish a coach wouldn’t hold back and call out these clown refs in the moment. It’s beyond time that officials should also have to face the media and defend there stupidity. If we require it of coaches and players, then refs should as well.
