Our Bowl Game Opponent

I'll see you all next year. This board has turned in to a mass suicide party. I frankly can't stand the negativity. Bama has been here before and will be on top again in the not so near future. I hate to lose but if I took this sort of attitude with my football teams as a coach, we would never win or be successful. Until Spring.

Not with the current coaching staff. You can't stand the negativity, but then you obviously can't see the problems within the team either.

If Florida or Arkansas makes it up to #2 and goes to the NC game (admittedly not likely), doesn't that open up a bowl game with a SEC tie-in for us?
Two SEC teams would have to go to BCS bowls for that to happen. Since only one SEC team can possibly wind up with only one win, that will not happen this year. If a 9th SEC team goes, it would be to a bowl that has tie-ins with a conference that doesn't qualify enough...

i could stand not going to the music city bowl, just so i don't have to hear another team play rocky top after they beat us like Minnesota did a few years ago

Did anyone else here Gary Danielson make the comment about MM and others leaving the game early????,

Shula may have already sealed his fate. I think he has refused help and advice on staff changes, i believe he has already been told that it is over. jmo

Worse, it postpones consideration of a coaching change for another month, and a big win might "save" Shula for another season...

Why not make the change & go to the bowl w/either of our coordinators filling in a head coach. It surely wouldn't hurt us, & it might help. We could even announce who the next coach is if his team is in a bowl if he is well recognized by players. They would then really have something to play for.

I'd still like to see us go to a bowl. I remember wishing for ANY bowl just a few years ago. Lol!

The Fla St game sounds interesting, but may not happen. Wake Forest ...well, they'll probably kill us.

Oh man....is Bethune-Cookman in div 1 yet?

I think that there is a better chance of the SEC getting two BCS bowl teams than any other conference except for the Big 10.

If UF loses the SECCG, the Orange would LOVE to get their hands on them. A strong possibility for Arkansas would be the Fiesta (if Boise St. loses). Texas goes to the Fiesta as Big 12 champs, so they would love a Texas-Arkansas matchup. Don't forget, bowls are more about putting fannies in their seats more than anything else. Another scenerio is if LSU beats Arkansas and UF wins the SECCG and goes to the BCS Championship. I would think that the Sugar would take LSU for sure in that case.

10 BCS bowl spots:
Big East Champ
ACC Champ
Big 12 Champ
Pac 10 Champ
SEC Champ
Big 10+1 Champ
Boise State (new rule to appease mid-majors)
Michigan
Notre Dame?
West Virginia?

A second SEC team might sneak in on one of the last two spots, but I doubt it. Notre Dame is guaranteed in if they finish 8 or better (hopefully a loss to USC will push them below that) and West Virginia is actually the best team in the Big East that had a bad night against Louisville and will likely lose the conference tiebreaker on a head-to-head with Louisville.
