thumping a classroom pet hamster on the head. It needed to be put to sleep. They were charged with animal cruelty...

Well, do as the Mongols and other primitives do: put a price on the hamster and make the little buggers (or their parents) pay. If they are unwilling or unable to pay, then have this pair beaten with a big stick all afternoon. Justice is simple when you clear your head of cant. :biggrin:

I've recently chased one down with Raid Wasp and Hornet Spray, then polished him off with a blunt object. The doomed vermin had holed up inside a bag of mulch.

This school system would have executed me for such acts.

I should have added that the price is to be paid in hamsters --- seven for one. True it's only a glorified rat, but it was the school's rat, which gives it a certain value. :biggrin:

I'm not against the kids being punished, but being arrested is a little over board for a rat.
