People talking up the Tide

Just want to share a bit on how folks have stopped me in stores/eating places/mall and telling me they watched the game and want to talk.

People at church calling my home after the Game, lining up after service to chat. Preacher said he was sorry for doing the Gator Chomp on Wednesday nite. Some people didn't come to church and I would have been very nice. really all I did was kinda walk around and wave at folks. My son wore my old Bama Polo.

All of our phones rang non stop.

Drivers pulling up beside the Bamamobile and waving.

Cardinal fans my wife works with at the FCA telling her some nice things meant for me.

Sport site that is local with Cat fans now only a few have showed Class, others want to argue with me, hey lets get it on.

There is one thig I have said..."we have along way to go to get where we need to be., but thanks for the kind words".

Re: People talking to me & Family

I was in the Smoky Mountains the week of the Tennessee game with the wife. Of course I wore everything Alabama every day. We couldn't even go in a restuarant without somebody wanting to talk smack or give dirty looks, it was great.

I flew home from San Juan, PR yesterday wearing A BAMA shirt and had a Customs officer single me out for a hearty "ROLL TIDE". He was originally from Montgomery and we had quite a nice chat.

Got a lot of Roll Tide's here at school. The UGA fans absolutely detest UF. My folks are originally from Louisville Larry. How long you lived there?

I can tell you that the Nole fans here in Tallahassee have been great. Everywhere I go people thank me (like I had anything to do with it). Yesterday a grateful FSU fan paid for my lunch, Monday night I got a dozen oysters free because I had a BAMA shirt on. While Christmas shopping in the mall I heard "Thank you" and "Roll Tide" at least a dozen times. One man chased me down in Lowes parking lot just to shake my hand. I'm lovin' it

I could tell you about some "get to the back of the bus" stories when I wore Bama gear in that third world country. The real life hatred from the loons up there is remarkable.

I will, there was a couple of guys missing from last Sundays Sunday School, so I get to speak with them Sunday. One guy said when someone told me Good Luck Sunday before the game he said "they will need more than luck, the Gators will kill them". I just set there thinking..."you are in church"

But folks are still stopping me, at Steak & Shake (peppermint Chocolate chip shake is GREAT) an older couple wanted to talk with me they are Cornhuskers.

I even heard that new Cards Coach Charlie Strong wants to meet with me. Well thats what I was telling my Card fans family. I will get a chance to met him wearing Bama stuff.

Almost every day someoen still stops me and wants to talk.

I just cannot believe we are in this position. When I really set and think about it I just get so tranquill. To think we are one game a way from experincing a BCSCG it boggles my mind.

I remember telling everyone back in August how next year was gonna be our year, and I still say that as of today.

Do I wake up and we are playing in anothert bowl?

Is Mama buying all this Bama stuff for me and the boys. I get daily packages from Fed-X/UPS.

I also can remember 1965 Orange bowl and seein Joe come off the bench and almost lead us to a victory over the Horns and how much I cried for weeks. I was 11.

Its our time to beat those guys, we are due. Win it for all the 10/11/12 year old Bama fans who pretend they are playing for Bama.

I live in N.E. TN and I went home to Coosa county this past weekend. First time in months.. I was pleasantly surprised to see all the Bama flags and tags on cars in Alabama.. Something I have not seen in years.. It was noticable to me, not in state everyday.

Lot more AU gear in evidence here in HSV than last year. Of course, they're in the Outhouse Bowl...

I live in a small town and there are a lot of Auburn fans here but all get along fine. I love to be a Bama fan this year. Rolltide:biggrin:
Just keep reminding them, It was a moral victory. That will keep them happy. Plus, remind them they were so happy in stopping Ingram and keeping him from winning the HT. That should keep them happy.

The locals here despise everything having to do w/ Bama, & don't mind sharing that. So, I'm a bit jealous. Enjoy!

Just tell the locals they got their butts beat by something called Middle TN STATE U. Sounds like a prison, Middle Tenn. State.

Summer before last I was in San Jaun walking around with my Alabama hat with just the script "A" and a guy said....."Here comes the Crimson Tide". The guy was from Florida originally but was living in San Juan and was a huge college football fan. I was shocked he knew the difference in our A and the braves.....He was also a former pro baseball player.
