Pretty sure more details will come out later..Not sure in what capacity he's returning...but per BOL, Thompson is set to make a return.

Re: Lance Thompson back to UA?

I read this same thing on al.com. Not really a fan since he jumped ship a couple of years ago but I know he is a great recruiter. Sal replaced him and was sought for his ability to teach a pass rush so it was my opinion that Sal was a step up as far as a coach goes. Just my thoughts, guess I should call up Saban and tell him what he should do, right?

Re: Lance Thompson back to UA?

yea im not sure what i think about it, uneasy to say the least, at least he can recruit very very well, or at least does under Saban. I wonder if CNS would consider James Willis, if he is willing to look at CLT again?

I know this won't be a popular opinion but I'm not happy with this hire. I never thought he was that great of a coach and he left us to coach at UT in a very abrupt, arrogant manner. There are other things I could write about LT that are not flattering but I will leave those things alone.

It's going to be very telling what capacity he surfaces in as to the conditions of his return.

Right, it's trickling back to me now. Didn't LT do his fair share of trash talking after his departure for enemy lines?

There were some other things at work there....and none of us can say what we would or wouldn't have done if we were in his situation. No need to get into those details here..and if anyone does, there posts will be edited to remove them. But it is what it is.

He's a great recruiter when he recruiting for Alabama, but an average position coach IMO. Assuming this is true, I really don't care for the hire myself.

I'll leaving the hiring to Saban though.

I am not a fan of LT, but I am a fan of CNS and I am going out on a limb and say that CNS knows what he is doing.
I can't believe im saying this but i completley agree with graytide....i guess their is a first time for everything eh gray?? ;)

CNS has earned my trust and while im not a lance thompson fan...i figure saban knows what his doing
