^^THIS^^ Really guys, it's about coaches changing jobs, that's all. All this resentment I'm reading is silly. He took another job for more money and now he's coming back to the same company. Get over it. He was doing a fine job for us before he left and I'm sure he'll do a fine job when he returns, in whatever capacity...

The resentment comes from his exit. Sunseri left on good terms. Not real sure LT did.

Unless you think CNS the guy who demands excellence from himself and everyone else just hired the first guy that came along we don't disagree. I am not happy nor am I excited about the hire, but I doubt CNS doesn't think he's a good coach. CNS wanted to hire him or he wouldn't have. He doesn't settle for anything.
 
It's a business, guys!! To hold something against him that he said when at a UT pep rally or press conference is beyond naive, IMO.

Trust Coach Saban on this one. A lot of this petty resentment is based on stuff most of us probably really know nothing about, just what's been reported or is second hand rumor and innuendo. If it happens, get behind it and support it!

I think some people in this thread should just accept the hire. I don't care if Coach Saban hired Phil Fulmer. He's the best coach in college football, and every decision he's made at Alabama has been pretty much spot on.

Ignorance? Selective memory? Really? He's a great recruiter and solid enough coach to have been hired for the third time by Coach Saban. I didn't like what he said when he went to Tennessee, but I do realize it was in a "pep rally" type situation. I'm not going to judge his personal life. I think we just have to accept that he's back in Tuscaloosa.

2 National Championships in 3 years. Saban earn the right to hire whoever he feels is the right man for the job.

Was there really a need in homework here? CNS and LT have a relationship that goes back for years. I'm going to speculate here, but, I'm bettin' we get a tremendous effort out of LT 'cause he knows exactly what he's getting into by accepting a role with a Saban coached team. On that note, how many times has Saban re-hired a coach?

Does anyone else think it's wierd......I mean,, did Tennessee throw in a coach as part of the deal with Sunseri?
 
I hope you folks that are acting like Coach Saban has never made a bad decision don't complain during games. I'm sure he would say he didn't make the best decisions during the 2010 Iron Bowl, 2008 Sugar Bowl or the LSU game on Nov. 5.

I agree he's the best college coach. That doesn't mean he doesn't have flaws. Yeah, I know... It's difficult to believe.

I never said he was flawless. However, I think he's earned the right to not have his personnel choices questioned by his own fanbase.

I referring to being sure LT was clear on any of the recruiting violations or improper things that occurred at TN while he was there. I'm sure CNS dug around and found out the truth. At least I hope he did.
 
I'm sure Coach has done all the work necessary, and it was done days ago. Remember we learned about Sal's possible departure around Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm sure CNS started making calls around that time to find out who was interested. I doubt he started making phone calls Friday morning.
 
How many of you were in favor of Houston Nutt when Jess brought him up? The majority of replies in that thread were a major no. Would you have complained if CNS hired Nutt as OC? Or would that be "CNS hires him, and I'll support them" type comment?
