I know money talks but a reputable "top level" coach willing to come to the Barn under these publicly known circumstances? Having some trouble buying into that.
I'd like to see what someone believes a 'top level' coach to be. If the prerequisite is that they've won an NC, the list is incredibly short.

Of course, there's Mack Brown...

Dabo is in a cupcake conference that is likely to stay that way for some time. King of the Hill in the ACC or also-ran in the SEC West facing Alabama, LSU, Mississippi State, Texas A&M every year. Throw in Georgia and a resurgence in the SEC East that will make beating a quality team in the championship a tougher deterrent to making the playoffs soon. Nah. Dabo would be a fool to consider Auburn.

We should have let them stay close and beat them by FG. That way they wouldn't be looking to replace Gus. But nooo, we had to leave Tua in the 2nd half and kick their butts by 31 points.

Hard to believe Stoops would get back into coaching by going to Auburn in the SEC west with the drama that goes with AU. I imagine the Purdue coach is more likely. But no doubt Stoops would be a great hire for them. I'd fire Gus if I had Stoops lined up.

If Stoops is going to get back in coaching I don't see it at the barn. With USC and possibly OSU opening up next year I think he would wait for one of them. Lot easier to win there and get a playoff spot rather than contend with CNS until he retires.

If only"Big House(l)" were still AD, All Bran could see your "top level" criteria and raise you: Tri-HCs Mack the Rubber Knife, Cheez-its and Big-Gob Bob...

More I think about it more I wonder if Vegas meddles into games directly.
Like just wearing down the clock before halftime and even bama not taking time outs to try to get the ball back. Then the Hurts TD pass when our db's look like they were just standing there. That TD covered the spread. Seems that was the last score and both teams then just played around to kill the clock. Bottom line I wonder if both coaches get signals or messages in the game from Vegas on plays and handling the final score. Just seems there is some outside influences, sometimes. AU could have beat the spread.

So, does Gus try to get another job or hang on for the full payout? As much as Stoops has run his mouth about the SEC, it would be a shame to see SEC teams hammer him...............He may very well go. I thought he had pretty much decided he was done, but so be it............I'd love to see Bama beat him a few times............

I guess Bama can send Butch on down the road and give Gus an analyst job
