And I have a friend that can't understand the application of the Voter ID laws in conservative states are often tools intended to disenfranchise voters who tend to be poorer and/or non-white, and tend to not vote for the GOP, not that the actual concept of using an ID to vote is inherently racist or classist. Just like poll taxes and literacy tests back in the day. Different tool, same intent.
