Potential final ranking prognostication

Im tired of trying to make sense of rankings..might be worth taking the human element out of it somehow. Until Strength of schedule is truly taken into account then the playoffs are really a college football invitational vs the top 12 teams. Obvious differences are ignored...like ND's schedule, or Miami's losses ( they are 4th in the ACC rankings btw)..or either's signature wins vs low ranked teams...Oregon must be wearing an invisibility cloak..they have beaten no good team either. And even when you look at OhioSt/Indiana..their resume vs UGA or even 8&4 don't stand up. The 12 teams will not be the best 12. There will be changes again this summer I suspect. Cant wait for the 12 useful idiots to move us down for "struggling" and position it so if we lose Saturday we are out...even though teams sitting home get in with ZERO risk

The BIG10 champ will be 1, If Texas Tech wins the big 12 they will get a bye, the SEC champ, and then maybe the loser of the big10 or SEC games will be 4th depending if they are close. Texas A&M benefited from the easiest possible SEC schedule of all time. They really do not deserve to be in the playoff, but one lucky win over Notre Dame makes them world beaters

I wish that were true but even if we beat UGA we will not be a top 4 seed because we are still gonna be 10th in the CFP coming up on Tuesday. We are not gonna jump from 10th to 4th by winning the SEC because we will be 10th in the CFP standings going into the SECCG. We might get lucky and jump up high enough to host a playoff game.

Because everyone ahead of Alabama in the CFP standings won in week 14 except Tx A&M and Bama beat an unranked Auburn team. Tx A&M are currently 3rd and I don't see them falling below Bama even with their loss to Texas, so we remain at 10. Tx A&M will probably be at 7 or 8 on Tuesday when the updated CFP rankings come out.

Yep. We have run the gauntlet of the SEC and now it's just us and Georgia left to duke it out for the championship. I know the committee doesn't care but we shouldn't be punished for having to play yet another game. And I don't think our SEC commissioner would fight very hard to keep us in if we lose to Georgia.

Sankey won't lift a finger... He should be out there singing our praises about how he expects us to be in the playoffs and lobbying for us. He will passively stand by and then be happy when we don't make it. He is a weasel and should have been gone years ago.

I still say we just decline the SEC game invitation if we are #10 and don't get strong statements that the game won't affect us. Why would we play in the title game to be eliminated if we are in without it? It is ludicrous.

It would probably go in the books as a loss by forfeit and we’d be out anyway.

I get what you are saying but it’s not possible to just decline the bid for the SECCG.

If we didn’t show up they would just count it as a forfeit and award the game to UGA and we’d be eliminated anyway.

Plus it makes us look like a little crybaby like FSU in 2023.

All we can control is showing up and making a case for ourselves.

Either beat UGA or Make it a Major Heavyweight fight where it’s clear that both teams are Great and even in defeat the runner up should be in the Playoff.

Very true and not really a practical suggestion... But I would like to see Sankey go to bat for us and for our AD as well.
