Potential final ranking prognostication

If we lose to Ga, there is absolutely no way a 3-loss team makes the playoff.
For whatever reason, this year there are a multitude of 2 loss teams, period.

just saw on ESPN we would play OU in the first game as constituted today, but CBS says we play ole miss.
We shall see next week when the final rankings are made,, but if we beat the puppies, can we move up to a bye spot?

I don’t think Booger and Joey are looking at teams. They just think it’s a big jump. But if we win we aren’t staying below an Oregon or a Georgia or an Ole Miss or an A&M as SEC champs.

Yeah that’s how I read it as well…win we’re in, close loss we’re in…get blown out and we’re out.

I can live with that, it’s not like you can just totally ignore the FSU loss despite it being so long ago in the season…they’re a pretty awful team.

Tech blew them out the first meeting and is a 13-point favorite in the 2nd rematch. I believe Tech wants to remain the #4 seed in order to get a bye, so they want to win again.
furthermore, the game is in Texas, basically home field advantage

So TAMU lost to Texas (8-3) by 10 and dropped from third to seventh in AP. Bama was 4th about couple of weeks ago and loses by two to a 10-2 Oklahoma while turning the ball over three times and missing a potential winning chip shot FG and drops from 4th to 10th.

Makes perfect sense….

Texas 8&4 didn't also lose to a pitiful ACC team. FSU may end up embarrassing us twice. I don't agree with it, mind you. I think we should be in no matter the outcome of the SEC title game; however, the continuing joke of a committee may say otherwise.

That’s exactly what the committee wants chaos that gets people talking and questioning their rankings. If the playoffs were based solely on the most deserving teams, there wouldn’t be any need for a committee in the first place. Their rankings are doing exactly what they’re designed to do, create drama.

And think of how much revenue is generated by the drama via all these ranking reveal shows and countless hours of talking heads debating the obvious.

Bama didn’t fall 6 spots by losing to FSU. The committee was impressed enough with wins over Wisconsin UGA Vanderbilt Missouri and Tennessee and USCe that they were #4 overall. They dropped 6 spots after losing by two points to a ranked two loss Oklahoma. TAMU as well had played among the weakest schedule in the conference, and were basically exposed by Texas last Friday.

My point being is that Bama, after the loss to Oklahoma, all things being considered should have been no worse than #9 and ahead of Notre Dame.

Well... after the inexplicable and regrettable loss to FSU... This team is 10-1 down the stretch with a 2 point loss that we literally handed over to a top ten playoff bound team.

Not too shabby.
