Potential final ranking prognostication

I agree that Ty has regressed, but with how bad the O line is, is it realistic to expect Mack or Russell to be any better?

The O line is just terrible.
This is what I scream at my computer every single time I see a post about benching Ty. People keep thinking that Mack and Russell would be saviors, but they still gotta play behind the same Oline. Sure they looked great against ULM and east illinois state tech school for the blind, but throwing them to the wolves at this juncture is just dumb.

I could be wrong but one thing that Mack and Russell could bring to the table is their mobility.
Cause with that OLine they gonna be running.
I love Ty, but something is clearly wrong with him. Whether its an injury or mental aspect i couldn't tell you, but what i do know is keeping him in the game yesterday was a disservice to him and the team.
Some of those throws yesterday were Horrible.

Ty isn't a statue. He is mobile too. Why do you "the backup and 3rd stringer is better" guys keep thinking that Ty is slow?

Might as well post it:

Never said they were better.
Never said Ty was slow.
If he is injured, then i am assuming it makes it harder for him to be mobile, but i dont know that because its been mums the word with him.
Either way, if your starter is struggling, and week over week regressing, you might want to at least consider putting in the backup for a series or two.
Should we be starting Ty if he is injured? Only the team can say how bad it is.

I’m not sure it’s realistic at all.

Just that we have to be prepared to try and do something different that could possibly provide a spark.

I love Ty and I do think he’s a combination of hurt but also mentally rattled.

His pass attempts yesterday were just awful many times.

He’s playing every bit as bad as Jalen Hurts in late 2017 and #4 late last year.

You gotta try someone else and at least just see if it helps.

We literally can not be worse than what we already are right now on Offense.
If Ty struggles against OU then it’s fine to make the switch.

The idea of benching him as the starter is nuts.

It's not been disclosed but he's been playing injured for weeks now.

I would have started Mack yesterday, honestly. Not because Ty isn't better, but because I don't think Ty is better when he can't throw well.

They should get 1 spot. Thats it. If they are one of the 5 ranked conference champions automatic qualifier , that should also satisfy the highest ranked G5 automatic qualifier.
Only if their SOS is in the top12.

Otherwise, why do they deserve to take the place of a team that actually played real football all season?

At least start the second half with him. We're down two TDs and our offense has not been working all game.

That is in the past, but I hope we put a plan together for the Playoffs to bring in another QB in a similar situation. Heck, if Grubb is such an offensive genius, why not have Ty under center and Mack at H-Back or something just to make the defense think when the ball is snapped.

It what I was asking for in the game thread. Give Ty a shot to see if it helps, give him the first series of the second half, and if it's more of the same, throw Mack in there. Couldn't have been worse...

I get that argument, and give them zero shot at winning a championship . However, for two reasons. One, they are in the FBS, so they should have a path to a championship Two, it avoids inevitable law suits . The alternative is to break away inside the NCAA or outside with a league of their own.

I don't care about giving a team a path that plays a schedule literally every SEC team would go 12-0 playing.

I couldn't care less.

You want to make the playoffs? Earn it. Anything else is massively unfair to teams like Vandy that put their money where their mouth is and played a hellacious schedule only to sit at home watching a G5 team get blown out.

They want in? They can earn it. Otherwise they're welcome to go back to FCS - where they belong.

I agree with everything you said, but you know that’s not how this works. Attorneys and politicians will get involved.
