Should not all WRs be happy in your reality right now since Milroe won't be in Alabama next year?
The ones who decided to stay, yes. The rest bailed because they lost trust in the staff for the way the QB situation was handled. They wanted out regardless if Milroe left or not. They were sick of it.

Had Milroe came back we would be forced to be a power run team because the entire receiver group and probably every receiver coming in would have gotten out of dodge. I know for a fact that the receiver room is more angry than the 2017 group was ever about Hurts. Milroe was told that he wouldn’t be the starter next year at Bama at some point in the past few weeks.

Odom and Law are cases where them or their support group totally lost faith in the staff on how they handled Milroe being the quarterback. It’s a bunch of bad feelings that never healed after the Tennessee game.

I don’t blame them. It’s a shame, but some lessons must be learned the hard way. Let’s hope CKD does in fact learn.

And two, I’d wish these collectives stop making these deals that guarantees positions/playing time without players proving they are worth the money. I’d rather most of them bail and we have almost the same record than to try to keep people happy and lose horribly with them.

Reading this just makes me even more ticked about the JM hostage situation!!!

But, time to move on now!

I agree I'd love to see some special attention given to the OL. Seems to be the #1 priority alongside identifying our next starting QB.

Proctor? I'm not sure he's got the footspeed to play LT. I think he MUST drop 30 or 40 lbs. to be able to play.

DL: I feel pretty good about that. Do we need depth? I assuming so.

I guess we'll see at least one WR with Jefferson hitting the portal.

Also, wouldn't surprise me if we added a scat RB. Maybe that's who the guy we are looking at is.

DeBoer needs to start letting them earn it...........I dont know what kind of deal with the Devil was made with Milroe, but that needs to stop, and no free handouts. Had the Milroe situation been handled awhile back, things might be different............but no more free handouts

If this had been handled in 2023, that season would have been lost and probably ugly at times. Who knows what 2024 would have been or who coached us ? Maybe the return to "normalcy" was best served by the path taken by Saban and Deboer.

We're obviously bringing in several RB's for visits, so that means someone on our current roster must not be the fit DeBoer likes. I'm wondering who it may be?

I think a lot of our struggles running the ball stem from Milroe keeping it when he should have given it to the back. He struggled to make the correct read, and when he did make the correct read it wasn't quick enough for our running backs to do anything with it.

Jam - I've always liked him but he didn't have the kind of year I expected at all. He seemed to be missing some of the juice he flashed in previous seasons.

Young - He runs hard but we've unfortunately only gotten to see him with very limited carries.

Hill - I was never impressed with his high school film and haven't seen anything this past season to change that.

Riley - He is faster and quicker than the others and has more home run ability, which we've definitely been missing.

Dear - Hoping he comes in and lives up to his hype/ranking.

Thoughts??

The trouble is it's kind of impossible to read him.

CNS kept it real and told you and the team in no uncertain terms what was going on.

CKD only gives out the most nothing word salad coach speak you could possibly hear.

He says things that don't even make sense like he's speaking an alien language.

He told players one thing and did another.

He protected Milroe constantly to the point of throwing the OL, the RB, The WRs, the OC and anybody else under the bus to cover for him.

We have 2 WRs and 1 RB left who had playing time of note or were starters.

He will rip backups a new one and won't say a peep to the guy throwing the ball 3-5 yards behind a WR.

Nothing he does makes sense and it's dumbfounding because he's ran off skill guys right and left to protect a ATH playing at being a QB while we had at least two real QBs on the bench.

Agree for the most part but with the bad performance from QB and o line I still think Jam is better than appears. Haynes took carries and had bad vision so good he is gone. Young still seems like he can be the guy. Idk about Riley on this level yet so TBD.

I'm with you on most of this, but there were certainly some times where Saban used pretty guarded language. i.e. he wasn't forthcoming about the whole QB thing and how that was playing out over the summer of 2023. he hinted at it, but you had to be a bit more in the know to get what he was really saying.

CNS wasn’t typically one to tell the media or fans what they wanted to hear. He more often than not used the PC’s to send messages to those within the team and staff.
