Probably to no surprise, Sabb is returning. This defense should be a strong unit next year
Sure you can. If NIL didn’t exist, we wouldn’t have to pay them $4M…Yup
Cant complain about NIL ruining the game then complain about why you don't have 4 million dollar receivers on the roster.
Lonergan went to BC, probably a friendly face, plus BoBRoss has transferred to Kansas State
Lockwood has transferred to Boston College (BoB could’ve been his original recruiter)
Not exactly great destinations.
We are lucky hubbard wasn’t plucked like okoronkwoOne plus from sabbs injury is it afforded Hubbard to get valuable live game experience. Sabb won't miss a beat and having both on the field looks like it's going to be a stout combo on defense.
Hubbard should start next year. We were luckier to hold onto mincey since he's likely the top backup thereWe are lucky hubbard wasn’t plucked like okoronkwo
Nothing so far from him or Latham. But both are expected to return. Likely waiting for draft feedback...or waiting on nil bumps which both will get honestly.Has Bernard announced or atleast tipping what his plans are?
Just making a case, IF we brought in a tackle I'd hope theyd have the mindset that they were coming into compete for the best job possible, not just the best available. The oline could use a boost. And fwiw a move to RT may actually boost proctors draft stock as he may have a more dominate season and put up some pretty impressive tape. But thats just me.Unless he’d want to move to RT, why would he want to come to AL and compete with Proctor?
He most likely has 1 year of eligibility left (did he redshirt?)
Interesting. Would need to add some size or he'd get jammed into oblivion in the sec but he has time to do that.Jason Robinson out of California who went to Washington and former recruit who originally committted to CKD has entered the portal. He redshirted this year as a freshman but with connection to coach might want to come here. He is a pure slot type receiver that has lots of wiggle. He lacks size which the one big issue or he would be a much higher rated guy.
“ Robinson is arguably the best pure route runner in the state. He’s a prototype slot receiver who just knows how to get open. He’s quick off the line, can get in and out of his breaks and plays with a high understanding of how to set up a corner to get easy separation. Catches the ball well and will give you yards after contact. Could also be a threat in the return game on punts and kickoffs at the college level. Highly competitive kid who plays with a bit of a chip on his shoulder and will always give you max effort. Will need to continue to add some good weight and strength to his frame to fill out for the physicality of the college game but has the skill set to be a very good player at the next level.” From his recruitment profile
I just don't think Proctor is ever going to be quick enough for an NFL LT, it would be beneficial for him to move. He's clearly a good lineman, just misplaced.Proctor may be better at RT if we can get a better LT.
DJ Fluker comes to mind. Ploughed the road.I just don't think Proctor is ever going to be quick enough for an NFL LT, it would be beneficial for him to move. He's clearly a good lineman, just misplaced.
I suggested RT because of lack of Speed and technique but I also have not seen any kind of mean streak in him like Fluker. He has kind of been like that big kid that looks the part so you put him in and you hope he gets the attitude to be great on the line but still not there.DJ Fluker comes to mind. Ploughed the road.
Fluker body pressed people into the ground.DJ Fluker comes to mind. Ploughed the road.
Lineman that played for Bryant years ago said he told them to “knock them down, play through the whistle, help them up (he said “don’t let them rest by laying on the ground”), then look them in eye and tell them “I’ll be right back…””I played with a guy in HS who was a "gentle giant." He would block his man 10 yards down the field, put him on his back, then help him up and say: "Sorry 'bout that. Are you okay?"
In our SEC championship win against UGA, in the 4th quarter DJ Fluker is said to have come to the line, looked across and tell the UGA lineman and linebacker, "We're coming over me." They never stopped that run...DJ Fluker comes to mind. Ploughed the road.
