I would take Beck but wouldn’t pay much to get him. Guys currently on roster weren’t clearly better than Milroe to start either by winning team over or coaches so take Beck knowing what he is and let them all compete.

I listened to an interview last night with Urban Meyer and he said the OL position has now become the hardest most inconsistent position to scout and recruit. He said with all the specialized camps for QB's, receivers and running backs, it is now easier to scout these positions.

He said back when he was at Florida and OSU, if the OL recruit DIDN'T play basketball that was an immediate red flag. If the kid played basketball you knew you probably had a very good athlete.
that is an interesting point.

Without Beck & Ewers in the NFL draft, Milroe might be a legit N3 QB on the board right now.
It is not that Milroe is good, but others suck even more than he is.

I could see a program bringing him in a possible back up role, based primarily on that UCL injury. I know Brock Purdy with the 49ers had a similar injury last year and was able to have surgery, rehab and return this season. And maybe Beck can do the same, but Tommy John surgery can be tricky.
If it does turn out Beck hasn’t progressed, he could probably request a medical redshirt year and seek eligibility for 2026.

What makes you say that?
I'm guessing that he is angling for an even bigger NIL deal from the puppies.
Of course, he is looking for a big NIL deal. Georgia has just signed several high-profile WRs. Branch has probably cost them a 7 figure number. So, they’ve chosen to pay some players but not Beck.

Barring a setback in recovery from his injury he’d be the most game ready qb on our roster and it wouldn’t be close. If we got the money I’d be happy to have him bridge between Milroe and Russell. He’s got an unquestionably elite arm he just tries to do too much

If Pate's statement about Alabama's similar performance to OSU with the portal is true, then Knudson is probably being added for depth and is not expected to be a starter. The only player I see who is being brought in for legit starts is the WR from Miami, Horton.
He'll compete for the 3rd receiver spot.
