You can do the cash option which gives you about half of it then taxes take about another half.

Yeah, 1.7B is a lie. Plus if no one collects after a winner (most likely from California) is declared, the money then gets spread around to "the schools". Shouldn't it actually get put back in to the lottery until we get a real winner? It is really a scam and I don't believe there are ever any real winners.
