Spurs looked as bad as I've ever seen them today. The Kane situation can't be helping in the clubhouse - not that I mind as I don't care for either.

The surprise teams for me: on the upside it's Brighton and Brentord, while the biggest disappointment has been Arsenal, followed by Newcastle.

We (wife, oldest son, and me) were talking about the Spurs and how much Kane's situation over the transfer window affected the clubhouse, especially when you combine that with a new coach coming in and trying to get his system implemented. It hasn't helped that Son isn't 100%, either.

I agree with Brenton and Brighton being nice surprises. My middle son is a Leicester fan, and I was feeling pretty bad for him when I checked the scores. I had no idea that Brighton was currently in the top 4, even though it's early. The wife said Leicester got hosed by the officials, but I haven't been able to see what she was talking about yet. At any rate, Brighton is almost halfway to their win total from all of last season, so I'm hoping that can at least stay competitive and qualify for the Europa league next year.

While Arsenal may be a disappointment in the league, it's been a nice surprise for us. Our household is a consensus of wanting to see Arsenal relegated, so we loved the first three weeks of the season.

I've been a bit disappointed with Leeds so far this season. I thought they would be able to build on last season and stay solidly mid-table. Of course, it's early and they still have plenty of time to turn it around. They also haven't had the easiest of draws early on with losses to Liverpool and United, and drawing with an improved Everton (nice surprise, BTW) under Rafa.

Chelsea is playing well. Probably would have beaten Liverpool if they hadn't been a man down for over half the game. Big one with MC coming this weekend. West Ham has been a little disappointing, thought they would push for top four. Arsenal fans will riot shortly

I thought Liverpool really blew their chance with Chelsea being a man down for the second half. When it happened, I figured Liverpool would get at least 2 goals after the break.

Well, I thought Chelsea going a man down worked against Liverpool as Chelsea went turtle. They went to a bunker defensive approach to salvage the draw. Up until that point, Liverpool had been dictating tempo and style of play and had the better chances. One could sense that a goal was near. At least that's my recollection.

Barring injury, I think the top four could be as tight as they ever have been.
I agree. Until Elliott got hurt, I figured Liverpool would win the league this year, since we didn't do much in the summer window. Now it really looks like a toss up. Our draw with Southampton could be what keeps us from repeating. I think it will be that close.

What surprised me was how much possession Chelsea seemed to have in the second half. I thought they would just park the bus and clear it, but they actually controlled more of the game than I thought they would after the red card.

It is disappointing that the league title has, for all intents and purposes, has been decided and we're just coming into January. It would require a meltdown of major proportions by City for them to not win the league.

I wouldn't write off Liverpool yet. They are fully capable of going on a long winning streak. They just have to hold on while Salah and Mane are away in Africa for the next couple of weeks.
