Shepard is rated a 5-star and one of the top athletic QBs in the country. He has around 30 offers so far. He is the # 1 player in Texas and he strongly favors Texas. Alabama has offered and he does include Alabama among his favorites but not in his top five of Texas, Florida, OU, Michigan, and LSU. I just do not see him leaving Texas though.

Well somebody forgot to tell him that or he is keeping it a big secret. LSU is not even mentioned in the interview other than they are in his top five. I would not say he is a lock for anyone right now from the interview above and other interviews that I have read. Texas is currently listed as his favorite in his Scout.com profile and he says Texas contacts him about 4 times a week, more than any other school.

thats odd.. I had heard that he is pretty much a lock for LSU..

Everyone is a lock for LSU until LSU decides that they don't really need that particular prospect. At least that seems to be the case.

All I know is that Tommy Tubberville has already come out and said he's not going to give the kid a scholarship. Something about not wanting 5-stars unless they're long snappers.

I agree with Surf, at this point it certainly appears as if Texas is the heavy favorite. He's a heck of an athlete and will be good wherever he winds up but it certainly doesn't look like Alabama has much of a chance at this point. We'll be fine at QB though.

Has very good speed, is elusive and I'm certain is a fine athlete but didn't get a lot from his passing ability. If he's not a good QB, I'd think he'd be a great WR.

The reason people think he is an LSU lock is because his girlfriend goes to LSU. But he isn't close to being a lock. I have heard that A&M is actually his favorite. He will go where they let him play QB. Texas has already gotten a commit from a five star QB, so I don't think he will go there, but he might. His recruitment will be interesting.

After seeing the results of this year's recruiting class, it would be hard to rule out any chance, no matter how long the odds..........and it's been a danged long time since we could say THAT with a straight face!!
