Question about the hiring of assistants, not who but how

I know that Saban is given full autonomy on who he hires. My question is how are those assistants' contracts/salaries established. Saban wanted Steele as his D/C...does he contact Steele and ask him to come on board, then turn him over to Mal for contract negotiations. Or was his selection of assistants and their potential salaries part of Saban's pre-hiring negotiations.

That's a great question that I would like to know also.. I am not sure but I think they discuss his assistants salary before he is hired.

My guess is that their salaries are dictated by the free market and they will be compensated veerry well. Can't expect a 32 million dollar HC to operate with a bargain basement staff.
