Either they'd have to vote for a team that lost in the playoffs over the team that wins it all or they'd have to pick the #5 team to be champion.

If Bama had beaten LSU in a first round game after the 2011 season and then lost the NCG, LSU would have been selected #1 in some polls/rankings. They were anyway.

Guarantees a spot if a conference champion and two of the top 4 are SEC. #15 will work if your initials are ND, and your Heisman Trophy winner was injured and did not play in the games you lost.
