Rader rumors combined...

Message boards are for fun, amusement and info...with heavy emphasis on the first two.

Half the fun of posting on message boards is found in playing athletic director, head coach, offensive coordinator, etc.

Our opinions don't matter and more often than not may very well qualify as hugely uniformed. However, as this is all for fun and entertainment, I don't think there is any need to get upset. RTR.

This thread is absolutely hilarious!

You nailed it RamJam. But apparently all of those points must be made over and over and over.

So why are any of us here? Since we obviously don't know anything about Alabama football, why discuss it? Why have an opinion concerning anything about Alabama football?

Since obviously none of us know anything, then why are we here?

OK...you guys heard RamJam. There is to be absolutely no speculation of any kind on this message board.

(Sound of crickets chirping)

Well, this TF thing was fun while it lasted. 8 plus years and we never knew we were doing something wrong. Wow. :) RTR.

Why? If you think any Bama coaches read any of these boards, then you are mistaken.

And they get pay much more than anyone here to deal with this stuff.

Are you suggesting that coaches are some how internet ignorant? Or are you suggesting that they go out of their way to ignore sites that are fans of their programs? Or are you suggesting that they are "Out of our league" and web boards are beneath them?

The internet is here to stay...EVERYONE reads it if they are under the age of 60.

And I'm sure RamJam has never speculated on this board on anything involving Alabama football, correct?

You are right...

I think the submitter meant Rader comments, not commits

I meant to say comments, but this week has been full of commits, but then again my spelling is that of a 5 year old. So I really dont have an excuse.

Well, see I KNOW for FACT that no Alabama coaches read these boards. But what I hate for them (& their families) is rumors & then how they take off - complete to go with the "replacement" rumors....Especially bad for the kids at school...And I know what I'm talking about here...

I agree with this post. Speculation and talk it's just for fun. I know the next coach I hire at UA will be my first. Entertainment, just like Finebaum (flame away), he's just an entertainer, you can't take it personal and sulk, or pull out a gun and point at it at your teenage son!

How about Norm Chow? With the Titians 4-9 record he might be available.

That Dan Reeves is coming in and doing an evaluation of the Titans staff. You might be on to something Mr. Chow maybe looking for a job soon. Then again I dont think they will let him go that quick. I hope to see what Dan has to say about the Titan when he is done.

I think the team that Reeves is working with is the Texans, not the Titans. I don't think Chow is going anywhere any time soon, but, I sure would love to have a guy like him at Bama.

... just a guess, but the suggestion might be that the coaches have much more important things to do, especially during the season

for anybody to think that a coach would use valuable time looking at this board right now is a laughable thought

besides, ... they have to keep busy doing things, so we will have something to talk about :D

Maybe that's what they'd choose to do during their 15 minutes of vacation every year..JUST KIDDING - Honestly - they don't have any MORE time than they have so little of during the playing season - you guys have NO CLUE how hard the hours are (& the traveling) during the recruiting time of year, spring practice, summer preps & plans, fall practice - it's wild....and I mean - LONG hours - no days off. It's amazing.

I am quite aware of the responsibilities of college coaches during the recruiting period and the hardships that are added by the duties during bowl preparation. It is hard work, but it is their job and they are paid relatively well for it.

You speak as if football coaches are the only people that work long hours.

I have more than a mere clue of long hours and no days off. I've lived it... very recently. I'm sure that plenty of people here have also experienced hard and seemingly endless work.

There are quite a few war veterans on this board. They probably would laugh at the description of the "long, hard hours" that the coaches put in.

I appreciate the dedication, professionalism and passion displayed by the coaching staff. However, it isn't as though they're indentured servents...most make above average saleries while doing something they love.

Yes, the hours can be long, but the work is also very rewarding and full of opportunity. Hard work as an assistant coach or coordinator is often rewarded with an opportunity to become a head coach. Unfortunately, as a sudo-public figure (as Ronnie Cottrell discovered), potential assistant coaching changes are often reported in the press and discussed by fans on the Internet message boards.

Is it detremental to speculate about these things on message boards? Of course not. Recruits targeted by Bama are in routine, direct contact with the staff and not dependent upon message boards for info regarding the program.

Actually, its a positive thing for a team's assistant coaches to be considered for head coaching positions. Its when nobody wants them that a program is in trouble. :) RTR.
