Working here in MS has given me an opportunity to get to know several Arkansas Alum. Over the past couple of days they have been commenting over the whole "Hog Natons" displeasure of Nutt's performance and using the Nebraska and LSU jobs as leverage to scare them. Well, from their contacts and not to flame here, but if they don't become bowl elidegable by the end of the year he'll be fired and the two coaches Broyles is high on...Mike Price and Butch Davis (in that order)
Any thoughts of having "Pappy" back in the SEC?

That just goes to show you that if you can win, many things will be overlooked. The man made a mistake, but, for the most part, he admitted it and moved on. I think they would love to have that Mustain (sp?) kid and Price's system together.

Air-kansauce! Or is it air-hogs? What was it about when pigs fly? I can see it now. Some sportscaster opening with "Mike Price and the high flying pigs" Seriously, I'd love for Price to be at Arkie. At least then we'd know wheather CMP's offensive style would "fly" in the SEC. :biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin:

Price is a very good coach, but it would take years to implement his system. Recruiting strategy would need to be altered. Existing personnel not all suited to his offensive scheme...

I don't think it would take nearly as much time as that. Arkansas' receivers aren't bad, and Marcus Monk in particular is going to be a star soon. If Mustain follows through on his commitment, they'll have a pretty deep quarterback group (Johnson, Mortensen, Barthel, Mustain) to pick from. They're already deep at running back. The biggest change would be in the kind of offensive linemen they recruit. Arkansas has been on the Jackie Sherrill Plan (i.e., bunch of fat guys that can run block) for years now.

I think Price would struggle for one, maybe two years and then become a factor. But I think Butch Davis will be the first guy they turn to.

I personally think Mike Price is a sleazebag...

...and not just because he got drunk and embarassed himself, his family, UA and all Bama fans.

He flat out lied about what happened. He said over and over that it was a one time deal, but everyone knew that was a lie. He said he only had one stripper in the room, and that was a lie. The sports editor of the Pensacola News Journal told me that they had both strippers ready to go on the record, but one backed out when the PNJ would not keep her name anonymous.

After lying like a dog, Price then tried to blame Dr. Witt and make him look bad. He sued UA costing the University tens of thousands in legal fees. I wouldn't hire him for any job, and getting rid of him was the best thing to ever happen to Alabama IMHO.

If Price ends up in Arkansas, that would mean that he has to come to the SEC meetings in Florida again. Maybe he and old Destiny can rekindle the flame they once had, I'm sure the Arkansas faithful wouldn't care. He might even get a raise.
