Re: Alvin Kamara

Kamara seemed to be surprised and not happy with Foster to AU. I think Kamara is UGA bound. I think it depends on how the staff feels about D. Henry, which is likely very good. Doubt we would have room for Kamara with Henry, Tenpenny, and Jones on board already.

Can you blame him? I wouldn't want to go to that slimey place either! :cool2:

Re: Alvin Kamara

I love karma as an athlete and slot guy but reality is unless we lose a Rb he is very likely going elsewhere. He had a chance to jump on board and waited and likely missed his opportunity. The only package was to either UGA or BAMA and that was mostly to UGA.

Re: Alvin Kamara

Glad to be wrong on that one. I just assumed that Kamara was part of a package deal at AU
It was discussed by Foster, Matthews and Kamara but it appears if any go to the same school it will be Matthews and Kamara at UGA.

Re: Alvin Kamara

A Bama poster on the AJC says Kamara has a slot offer and that he's considering it. fWIW, this guy said Foster was going to AU weeks before it came down.

Re: Alvin Kamara

On behalf of board readers, please put more in thread title than a name. Something that will tell what the thread is about.

Thanks
I wanted to go back and edit it, but it wouldn't allow me to do so.

Hopefully we can get both Henry and Kamara as both are exceptional athletes. :cool2:

Kamara looks to be a quality prospect, but at this point it would take a lot of issues on our end to find a spot for him in our class. We look to be loaded up on tailbacks with Tenpenny, Jones, and (hopefully) Henry, and guys like Jones, Averett, and Stewart fulfill our quota of combo athlete prospects at the skill positions.

For us to really take Kamara, I think we would have to have some of the current commits renege and go elsewhere. Otherwise, I just don't see the space. I guess he will end up at UGA, but either way I don't expect him at 'Bama.

Been several months since this thread has been updated, but space notwithstanding we have continued to recruit Kamara.

UGA is perhaps the narrow favorite here, but it looks like Kamara has a commitable offer from 'Bama, and UGA just picked up a commitment from tailback A.J. Thurman, so I think they are fighting some of the same depth issues we are.

Either way, pretty much a 'Bama v. UGA race at this point, and he'll take OVs to both.

BET, your posts are so interesting and informed, are you ready to make any specific predictions for how this Class will finish for us? Thanks.

Many thanks for the kind words.

I've got a pretty decent general sense of how it will end up, but it's honestly all very fluid and far too soon to start saying anything definitive with most of the big targets remaining on the board (Tunsel et. al). I'll have a something comprehensive posted in the next few weeks.

Are we still recruiting Kamara as a slot receiver? Any idea if he prefers slot or RB?
From what I've read, I think we are recruiting him as a slot, since we have three pure RBs committed. I think he would be able to compete at RB, but he has the skill set to fit better at the slot.

I think he just wants to get on the field, and I think we have a slight lead and can get him if we push hard for his signature.
