He sounds like he lit it up there and they were after him bad. But, he laughed off some clown that said Saban would leave. And he said playing in the state you are from is good, but you got to do what you got to do (go to Alabama).
I'm not terribly worried. He probably hears that stuff everywhere he goes.

I really, really, really hope Trent sticks to his commitment and rolls with the Tide. I think he is going to be one of those rare backs that can make a difference in every game; on every play. He is the recruit/commit I am most excited about with this class, just ahead of Kirkpatrick, who I think will be as good or better than Antonio Langham was.

Ask LSU fans about how dirty Urban recruits. He's the dirtiest recruiter in the SEC, hands down and it's not even close. I hope Saban has Julio, BJ, Jerrell, AJ and all of those guys in Richardson's ear as much as Meyer has all his little dorks trying to lie to him about Saban leaving, etc. I really was going to try to pull for UF this year because of Tebow and what he stands for---but now I realize that I will not pull for UF as long as Meyer is there. He's too low-down.

This is old news. I am wondering why they would put that out now, so long after the quotes were said.
Since his outstanding performance at UF's Friday Night Lights, Richardson has said that he is firmly committed to Alabama.

Seems like he is under some pretty intense pressure to be a Gator, but you can tell he really wants to play for 'Bama.

Urban isn't doing anything wrong. A verbal commitment isn't a signature. I'm sure Bama is still going after some prospects that has given a verbal to another school. It's all part of the recruiting process. Every recruit is fair game until National Signing Day!!!! A verbal means nothing. Finally, if Richardson is truly a Bama commit, then there isn't anything any other school can do to sway him. If he is swayed then that just shows that he really didn't want to be here anyway.

I believe he says he loves Florida to death...my thought is that he loves the state of Florida.....not the University of Florida and he has to do what he has to do....and that is leave the state of Florida to play football for the University of Alabama and Nick Saban.

FWIW i would have gone to BAMA but didnt have a firm offer at the time.
that would be correct...i am from FL born and raised (actually from Fort Walton Beach right down the street from Mr. Richardson) and i LOVE the state. It will always be my home but i had to do what i had to do when it came to college. i ended up going to Auburn on a swimming scolli (please dont kick me off the board for saying that lol) and passed on offers from FL schools.
FWIW i would have gone to BAMA but didnt have a firm offer at the time.

It's obvious that Trent Richardson is a tremendous tallent and has rare skills that don't come along every day. I would love for him to sign with the Tide on NSD and think it will go a long way to helping us get back to the top of the SEC.
However, he has not signed with anyone and will not until NSD. If he does choose Florida next February, Alabama did not loose him. He was never ours too loose. Yes, he would have misinformed Alabama coaches and us fans in the heat of recruitment. I'm sure most of us when we were 18 made mistakes much worse than changing our minds. These recruits are not ours until they sign on the dotted line. Then if we loose them, we have cause to complain.
Personally, I see him dressed in Crimson and White next fall!

Coach Saban recruits even the firmest commit like he was up in the air. Im sure he's all over Trent, and Im confident Trent will sign. Again, he's committed to us and that means a lot. The only team I was worried about was LSU and with what they already have committed @ RB and the fact that he is indeed commited to us... Im secure.
