Over at gatorcountry.com they pretty much think that since the landed Hornsby that they will get Tebow.

All the gator fans think they have Tebow, Fayson , Hornsby, but from what I've heard is that Hornsby is not academically qualified and the last update on Fayson says that even though Hornsby committing to UF gives them a little advantage him and Tebow still havent finished making their visits yet.. which kind of sounds like it doesnt matter where Hornsby goes..

The Gaytors seem to be confident that they are getting Tebow. I'm not exactly sure what they are basing that on, but here's to hoping they are wrong.

Is Prince Hall gifted that much more athletically than Matt Collins? Collins has seen a good bit of playing time and that would seem like a big step for a redshirt freshman to make.

Dukes is going to be one starting safety next year, but who is the other likely to be?

Guys, just curious, but who out there really comes close to rivalling us on facilities? I know all about the upgrades, I live here in Tuscaloosa and drive by them every day. They are impressive. But i have a hard time believing that no one out there has facilities as good as ours. you guys that know--who do you honestly think comes closest to us in quality of facilities? Just curious...

Arkansas is said to have nice facilities, like Walton arena, Walton weightroom, Walton Indoor Practice facility....you get the picture.

Marcus Carter, Cory Reamer, and Chris Rodgers will be in the mix too. Watch out for Rodgers. He's looking good.

Pleasant problem, isn't it? (for a change.) ........and they all have height to them. ;)

Common sense would say Spikes, considering the comments he made after his visit last weekend, but it could be Courtney Smith or Toryan Smith, too. they seem to be the strongest leaners that HAVEN'T set a specific commit date, ala Tim Tebow.

who do you think is the next prospect to commit? I am ready for some names to start coming off the board!!!
Hey, I'll commit! My wife said I could......no, wait, she said I should BE committed! :frown: Prospect? Nobody said anything about having to be a prospect! Dang! I get left out every time! :p ;)

Spikes may take another visit or two, but he may be the closest. If Spikes commits, look for Toryan Smith to go elsewhere.

Jermarcus Ricks might commit sometime after the Bama/Barn game if the Barn doesn't pull even with us.

Any of you recruiting gurus know how in the world UGA got away with giving Hornsby a MRI?? Isnt that a pretty expensive exam?? I guess when you are going to spend a lot of money on a recruit you can check them out...

By CHASE GOODBREAD, The Times-Union
"The Bulldogs performed an MRI exam on Hornsby's knee, which he thought he sprained in the Saints' season finale against First Coast, and the results were the last thing Hornsby wanted to hear: torn ACL, complete surgical reconstruction, months of rehabilitation.

"I thought it was a joke," Hornsby said. "They said it looks like an ACL tear, and I said, 'Come on, seriously, what is it?' Then they told me again and they weren't laughing."

Nobody ever mention Antonio Forbes what is he doing or did he not sign with bama.

Forbes signed with Bama but he didn't qualify academically so he is now enrolled at Itawamba Community College in Mississippi playing football on the same team as Desmond Jennings. Hopefully they will both make it back to Bama after Community College.

Can anybody shed any light on the WR/S from Walker High, Randy Underwood? I know Bama has a lot of other players targeted at these two posistions. Does Bama have any real interest in him or is the interest primarily from his direction i.e. a Chad Key? The main reason I ask is because his name keeps making the list here.

A while back I had read that Bama was seriously looking at him even though he was not offered a scholarship. I don't know if they are still looking at him as a walk-on or not. I haven't heard anything since then. It looks like if Bama is only taking two more WRs that he may have to be a walk-on if he wants to play at Bama. I left him on my list because I haven't heard anything one way or the other about him.

I don't have any idea about the NCAA recruiting regulations as far as giving MRIs to recruits.

It doesn't surprise me that Hornsby didn't know it was a tear. I played basketball again about two weeks after my first ACL tear. The doctor said it was just a bad sprain. Shortly thereafter I found out it was a tear and the stability was not what it was after that. Of course I later had to have a complete ACL reconstruction.

Deon Williams Update
Tuscaloosa County dual-threat quarterback is on the right path to earn the honor of Mr. Football for 2005. Williams prepares for the Hoover Bucs for the second time this season.

Deon Williams was a one-man show against the mighty Hoover Bucs in the first game (September 23) scoring five touchdowns and and coming away with a victory 39-28.

As the Wildcats enter this week's contest in the quarterfinals Williams has 2,467 passing yards with 26 touchdowns and 662 yards rushing with 17 touchdowns.

From the NCAA manual:

13.11.2.5.1 During Campus Visit. During a prospect’s official or unofficial visit to campus, a
member institution, through its regular team or other designated physician, may conduct a medical
examination to determine the prospect’s medical qualifications to participate in intercollegiate
athletics, provided no athletics department staff member other than the athletics trainer is present,
the examination does not include any test or procedure designed to measure the athletics
agility or skill of the prospect and the results of the examination are not used by the institution to
deny admission of a prospect who is otherwise qualified for admission under the institution’s regular
admissions criteria. (Adopted 1/1/00; Revised: 10/30/03 effective 8/1/04)

If we do in fact get Tebow, how would we use him? I know that everyone says that our pro stlye offense will be a good fit for him, but we would have to use his athleticism some how. Would we run a lot of options, or maybe use him like Clemson uses Whitehurst?
