Remaining Recruits for this class

I hear ya but just seems funny that yall pull a scholly a week from one of the top o linemen in the state a week before he is supposed to sign..
Doesn't seem funny - seems legit. If he was dissing Auburn on social media and then sent a text to the HC saying that he wanted to decommit (seriously, he sent a text for something that important?), Auburn did the right thing by walking away. Pull the scholly and tell the kid to get lost.

Of course there is, until there isn't. My youngest son, when he was 16, broke up with his GF via text message. Why he chose that method is immaterial because it was wrong. This is that, and it is pretty inexcusable.

Exactly people going to see it from either their orange and blue glasses or crimson and white it is what it is.

Except in Cohen's words in his since deleted tweetstorm, and you can still peruse his Twitter yourself if you want to see what he thought of Auburn in general and Bo Nix in particular after the Iron Bowl, what B1G's saying is true.

Claimed he texted Gus Sunday, including a screenshot (though that's easily faked, the fact remains the kid tweeted it out).

Tweeted out his signing day announcement yesterday, saying he would be choosing between Alabama and Auburn.

Reports that Auburn would not be sending him an NLI came out this morning.

Sounds like his tweets were in response to the offer being pulled. Sounds like Auburn was upset because he took an OV

It also says “text message exchange” with Gus. An “exchange” requires another party.

Yeah, the since deleted tweetstorm and the and the subsequent commit to Alabama are a direct result of that.

There's more to it than that. I mean, for one, if we yanked the offer of every highly ranked kid that OV'd elsewhere, we wouldn't have much of a class to speak of. For another, the timeline in the kid's own words doesn't add up.

And the last thing, have a little respect for a program that offered you early when you were a low 3* and to which you were committed for months. If you take his words at face value (decommits in private via text on Sunday, announces Tuesday a signing day event where we are well aware he'll dramatically flip a la Brent Callaway/Reuben Foster), the it's no wonder we weren't going to send him an NLI since we were well aware he was just going to use as a prop in his little bit of performance art at our expense.

FWIW, this was the exchange he posted:

LOL - I don't tweet with teenagers.
Important point. There's a guy in my neighborhood, near 80, barn fan, who discovered Twitter and spends his days trolling Bama, its commits and recruits. E-I-G-H-T-Y years old. I see that sometimes and think "Is there anything that is legal that is more publicly stupid?"
And I'm old enough I can comfortably make the age reference.

Coach Golding is having an in home visit with Phillip Webb on Thursday.
Webb would be a pleasant, pleasant surprise. Not sure how good Golding is at recruiting but he is the boss of the D and probably quite younger than any of the other guys recruiting this kid.

Maybe he should not have waited 2+ hours to call the recruit back...... OR -- maybe a little "I'm tied up in meetings until noon, but I'll call you right after. Don't do anything until we talk" -- maybe THAT would have helped a bit.....

But, that's just an opinion

LOL - a very one-sided opinion.

Webb was considered all LSU until Coach Saban had an in home visit with him. His official visit went great this past weekend as well. Not ready to say it's Alabama, but his recruitment is trending that way and Alabama has made it a fight until the end.

I'd love for Saban to take a few away from Coach Warrrgarble and see him eat his words

Tell you what, after the last couple of seasons you can better well bet that Coach has fire in his belly to get the studs necessary to get back up the mountain where we belong. Let's just hope this is one of the pieces of the puzzle that adds to our champioship success.

Alabama will send Kyle Flood and Charles Kelly to visit 5 star OT Tate Rutledge (UGA commit) on Friday. Alabama was very much in his recruitment, but that fell off when Brent Key left for GT. Rutledge went with UGA because of his relationship with Sam Pittman. Pittman just took the Arkansas head job...so Rutledge is wavering. He is expected to wait until February to sign....let's see where this goes.

That would also be a nice get if they can pull it off..............Love to see Bama take one from Self Haircut
