Poaching mid-season is apparently the new thing.

The law is about what you can't do. Culture or decency is about what you shouldn't do, and you shouldn't do this. That people are doing it, means there will have to be a law, because behavior is no longer constrained by decency.

I would be very surprised if the SEC lets one league school shiv another mid-season like this.

I can't find any reputable major news sources reporting this. Not saying it hasn't happened, but I bet a swift denial from both schools and/or Kiffin is forthcoming.

Likely some booster / insider got wind of discussions with Kiffin's agent and figures being tossed around.

This seems... premature.

I do think Kiffin might be the most talented candidate out there in what appears to be an available situation. Because, the fact of the matter is, Ole Miss is not among the top tier jobs. Florida outranks them by several spots. I don't think he's a slam dunk, necessarily, to get Florida to the level they want to get back to. But again, among those potential candidates out there, I think he's the surest bet.

But I won't be surprised if this is either fake news or it blows up in Florida's face.

It's the agent they are talking to so it can be legal, Ole Miss doesn't have that kind of money to offer him, he may take it but I don't think so, his children love it in Oxford and his ex just moved there because of the kids, but money can make someone do strange things, he would definitely put Florida back in the mix, if we didn't have Deborah I'd want kiffin

He said in 2020 that Dan Mullen was adding Charlie Strong to his staff as an analyst.

Charlie Strong in reality land was added to Alabama’s Staff as an analyst.

I don't agree. I think Lane Kiffin has learned how to use the portal out of necessity; Ole Miss simply isn't going to get Top recruits out of high schools. Florida WILL get serious looks from top high schoolers. (And Florida has the cash to make those looks attractive to those kids' families.)

I would bet Lane Kiffin goes to Florida like *SNAP* that!

I don’t know to be honest.

But what’s going on today is wild speculation and guesses based on nothing really.

Florida may want Kiffin and he may end up going there at the end of the season but there is no way there is a firm offer being made right now.
