Each one-cent coin had cost nearly 4 cents to produce, making "its production financially untenable."
It was the end of an era today as the final one cent coin was minted in Philadelphia. President Trump ordered its elimination recently do to its uselessness and the cost of production.
Ones in circulation can still be used. But some places have already seen shortages (not sure how if they were still making them) and are rounding off change to the nearest five cents. Credit card transactions won’t be affected.
Given the stupidity of the average American, the rounding off of the change will cause mass confusion and cashiers will be cussed at.
