I'm going to be in Seoul, South Korea for awhile, and I have had no doubts until now about being planted in front of a TV at 9am Sunday morning (we're 13 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time). WatchESPN seems a little quirky for live streaming here and may require a VPN, but I'm not exactly tech savvy. Any ideas what I can do? I'm up for watching a delayed broadcast, as it won't be too difficult to avoid spoilers here. Are the games posted on Youtube or such like that pretty quickly?

By the way...where is Ben Davis? 5 star LB and I haven't seen his name listed on the latest "depth chart".

Way cool to get to go to SK! I've never had the opportunity but have always wanted to travel there. That'll be a strange experience - watching Alabama football and then walk out of your door into the streets of Seoul What a culture shock!

Sorry I don't have the best suggestions for that. I've had luck with ESPN App when I travel and haven't had to develop a workaround but I eagerly await reading some other posters responses in case that ever happens.

i have not been able to use the espn app in china or dubai. those games, i just listened to eli on tune-in (app). i was able to watch online in chile (we were playing missouri in the game that got rain delayed) for a while, but the internet connection was spotty and the game kept dropping.

interestingly enough, i am leaving atlanta for seoul en route to hong kong saturday at noon, so i will miss the entire game. i land in seoul at 4 pm, so unless the game goes to 30 overtimes, i will be s.o.l ;)

I've done that jump from ATL to Incheon several times via Korean Air. I'll be flying it again this spring. All I can say is better you than me, lol. Seriously though if they had even decent wifi on that flight it would be a game changer. I would gladly pay on the 15.5 hours it takes to get there.

If you spend much time overseas Slingbox is the answer. I've been overseas for the past 13 years and I haven't missed a televised game, I even caught the powder puff games that was on TideTV. RTR ready for some football!!!!!
I went to Slingbox (.com), and apparently you have to purchase a box? No way to get here by Sunday, unfortunately, but possibly a good idea for the rest of the season.

Starting to get really antsy.

Hmmm. My flight to SK was in the belly of an olive drab C141 in February, 1968. No window seats, no stewardesses, no transister radios, and Al G. hadn't invented the internet yet. Never got to go south from UnChon ni during my 15 1/2 months to see Seoul. Have considered going back as a tourist, but don't know if I could forget what it was in '68 in order to just enjoy what it has evolved into today.

I know and that stinks. At that point you would still have about 7 hours to kill. Last year I watched the Bama/WKU game on a Southwest flight. If Southwest can do it, surely KA can too. When I get to Incheon I usually have an hour lay over and then I get on another 7 hour KA flight to Yangon, Myanmar. So, its flying for basically 23 hours straight. Needless to say, at that point, Im tired of bad Korean TV dinners. I usually hit up the taco bell or the Burger King on the second floor of Incheon for a reprieve from it. They used to have a Subway there but its gone and replaced with something serving rice and noodles of course.

yeah, that food gets old after a while. i have a 4 hour layover, then on to hong kong. i don't know how accurate it is, but i read the other day that ka doesn't offer wifi because it wouldn't be up to the standards that koreans expect

Youtube usually gets the game up two to three days later. If you have Verizon, etc on your phone or tablet, you can usually connect to watch it as long as you have wifi. I am unsure of the VPN requirements in Korea, but I imagine they are relatively tech savvy when it comes to piracy which is generally what determines if you need a VPN or not. There are some American sports bars in Korea as well. While most focus on baseball, you can probably google search to see if any are showing the game.

And for y'all eating tacobell, oof. I usually do the same when returning stateside, but after eating something American fast food that once and what it does to my body, I am good to pass for another year.

Dang! Why didn't you tell me. I have some stuff to send to HK, next week. It would be cheaper to spend $18, to send it to you, than $85, to send it to HK. Not to mention faster.

Some friend you are! :biggrin2:

That reminds me..............one of the usual gang of ne'er-do-wells sent me a humorous picture, the other day, which was his was of saying "Are we eating pho today?" (Which is the unofficial official food of the telecom industry. At least is it here, in what used to be called "The telecom arroyo".)

I won't share it, out of respect for all dog lovers. :biggrin2:
