At the Arkansas football game this weekend I heard from a very, very credible source that Ronald Steele will be red shirted this upcoming season. His knee is not close to being healthy. There should be an announcement coming soon.
can't do that, but he is close to the situation.
I don't have a source close to the situation, but I wondered if this might be the case (Steele red-shirting). I've heard he has a ways to go with his rehab and would not be anywhere near 100% when the season starts.what?
its not a rumor. just wait and see.
When will it be announced?what?
its not a rumor. just wait and see.
I'm not calling you out. I appreciate the breaking news, especially if it is true. I just find it funny that this thread is alive and well...it would've been slaughtered on the football board.I wasn't given a time frame on the announcement but it should be soon.
I wasn't trying to "break" the rules with this post, I was only trying to pass along some info I received. We will see here in the next couple weeks if I am right or not.
that's true, he was never 100% last year and our team suffered. hopefully he can use this year to get healthy and have a great 2008-2009 season. hopefully hendrix will stick around for his senior year.He should have been medically red-shirted last year.
We need to let last year go. That horse has been beaten to death. The bottom line that our fans need to realize is that it is very very likely that Ron will not regain the burst/physical ability that he had prior to his knee ailments. IF he redshirts this season, Alabama fans shouldn't be counting on Ron Steele version 2005-06 to lead the team during the 2008-09 season.I know that there will be alot of point guards going into the draft after this season, and that could help him in the draft after next. But does that make for a another struggling season? There is still no one like Ron on the team. Somebody screwed-up last year (coaches, doctors,etc.).
