Sadly we were outcoached again...

please tell me who said the grass is greener? has anyone posted that saban's not a great coach? that we need a change? that we'd be better off with someone else? i'd say that's overkill. i'm not losing my mind, moping around the house looking for a noose, or trying to move on. it's a beautiful day, i have a beautiful family, and we'll soon be outside enjoying a great afternoon. just because i think the coaching staff didn't do a good job last night doesn't mean i want a new staff, that i'm tearing up my alumni card, or that i'm staging a mutiny. it's really perplexing that the most over the top stuff is coming from the ones accusing everyone else of being over the top. saban's not a deity, he makes mistakes, he made mistakes last night that could have been avoided. what's selfish about saying that? what's so harsh about it? how is it overkill? again, correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't see anyone here advocating that there's some better alternative to what we currently have.

Actually if Football did have their own Deities.....I'd say Coach Saban is probably the one running the whole entire operation up there! Last time I checked, he had 2 Championships -- the rest of us on here have ZERO combined.....

dude, i'm unhappy with my wife sometimes, it doesn't mean i don't love her or that i want to trade her in. are we supposed to be thrilled with everything saban does? or are we simply supposed to remain silent so as not to offend someone? i haven't seen one poster asking him to leave or be replaced.

Let me ask for those that are unhappy with the coaching -- name me ONE head coach out there, that you'd rather have?
I believe that everyone who has criticized the coaching decisions in this game have already said that this in no way means that they want anyone else coaching the Tide, so this was unnecessary.

Making comments during moments of grief that are respectfully offered and kept in context are not harmful to this team or program, but might be therapeutic.

The better team won last night. Take away Trents one long run and we got NOTHING running. They were holding us to 3 yds with 6 in the box. They are better than us

The theme of this thread has changed guys. No one since the OP has really been hating on CNS so much. Catch up on your reading. It's been more of a get-it-off-your-chest kind of feel. We all know CNS is the best, but mistakes were made and some want to vent. Not fire the coach. It's therapeutic. Roll Tide

"Out-coached" is a hard claim to prove and probably not really true, but I think the offensive staff is due some questioning. Even if you think the offensive playcalling was sound, and that it just looked bad due to lack of execution, there's room to question the staff (for example, why does there seem to be a trend of Bama QBs struggling to make reads?).

As for the field goals... I have faith in the staff there. Coach Saban must've had reason to think Cade could hit those.[/QUOTE

Im sure Shula thought Tiffin could make those against arkansas too. Those were bad calls and there is nothing shameful about admitting it. Don't think Saban needs replaced that would be crazy. But Im sure even he will think about those kicks and realize they were a mistake.Win or lose last night they were a mistake.

Go back and read your previous posts. Seems to me as if you are extremely unhappy with CNS and the players.

I'm not sure I agree with you. Therapeutic for the poster, but not for the readers. I think some thoughts of that magnitude may be better off kept to one's self. The theme of tidefans - is to discuss, but show respect to the players, the team, and each other.

Bashing this Coaching Staff, to me, is inappropriate. If we were 2-6, bash away -- but not after that game....not after all they've accomplished the last 4 years.....it's not deserved.

The irony is, is that those that make negative comments are so quick to be offended when others don't agree......

Time for a break! I was starting to feel better -- this thread has bummed me out.

i'm very unhappy with last nights performance. and that's where it begins and ends. last night was a failed effort and there's nothing wrong with presenting it as such.

I guess every one is intitled to their opinions. My opinion is that we got beat by a team that executed plays better than we did. I'm sure CNS tried his best to put us in the win column. We've won games that we should have lost and no one whines. I'm putting you and Davefrat on my whiners list so I will know to skip over your posts.

You know that there's an ignore feature that hides those bad people with opposing view points..........but it will get boring real quick :)

i think a lot of this thread (including some of my posts) are coming close to violating the rules about sniping and back and forth stuff, so i'm going to sign out for a while. roll tide!

Please re-watch the game. He got stopped in the backfield a few times, but he had multiple runs of 10 or more. Twice in the 4th quarter... back to back runs mind you... he had runs of 9 yards. And the last time I checked, 3 yards a carry for 4 downs is 12 yards which gives you a first down every time.

Not only that but lsu put more than 6 in the box. They had 8 and would sneak the 9th in. Those were the times AJ should have audibled out of which he does do a good job of and will be even better at next year.

Just wanted to let you know that I have enjoyed reading your honest intelligent observations and even wrote a post defending your observations and right to say them.

We had 90 yards rushing for the game. As in only 90.

That's where I believe AJ's confidence in himself really played a big role. He seemed to be playing scared last night. I think the over-hype of this game may have got to him. He will succeed though. Tough kid.

All the QB's played scared because they were all playing against 1st and second round NFL defensive backs and they are not NFL caliber quarterbacks at this time.

Most QB's would have faired much worse than AJ

Tide Fans nothing else like us hey.
I think in looking for the reason for the loss (I said the score would be 40-10 Bama) we are missing one Huge thing. LSU is a very good football team. Our boys played with a lot of heart, a lot got really banged up & hung in there, trying to win. I think Coach Saban & his staff tried the Best they knew how to Beat LSU that I am sure of. And enjoy our coaches while you can, a lot of scools would appreciate the skills our CKS & CJM, and you may see them get their opportunity real soon.

As for Field Goal Kickers---Give me a Break, How many times on this Board did we here about Leigh Tiffin not doing this & not doing that. Oh, by the was he was the BEST their EVER was at Alabama, that is a matter of record not opinon. so, with that said it never should have come dowm to a kicker, but it did, to me not because Coach Saban did not do something he should have. But simply because LSU was/ is a Very good Football Team with a lot of hard hitting talent.
