I looked back and could not find a thread dedicated to Monshun Sales recruitment. If it is on the board, I apologize.

However, today he announces his pick.

Most think Sales' decision comes down to money....not how little but how much!

If it is ALL about the money, most agree it's not us. But, I read that Sales apparently gave Bama his ear yesterday to hear from them one last time.

Does CKD/Courtney Morgan have a rabbit they are about to pull out of the hat?

We don't have long to wait. He announces 11 CST on the Pat McAfee Show.

With the amount of focus on other guys I think the coaches aren’t very confident. Granted those guys are different types, but they are playmakers and could demand sizable NIL deals.

Flipping Simmons from Auburn is what I’m basing this on mostly.

The idea of Sales and Morgan on the outside with the tall tight end and shifty slot guys is a nice thought though.

Here's to hoping last night's conversation with our staff convinced him that BAMA is where he really wants to be. :)

Its interesting that Mark Cuban outbid Tejas for his services...................I figured it was all about the greenbacks anyway. And yeah he could very well be at Bama if things dont go his way
 
It truly baffles me that anyone would wanna play for the jerk in Bloomington. I certainly wouldn't allow my kids to play for that man, but I guess money talks. Now we gotta listen to their delusional fanbase talk more trash. Was hoping he would choose Texas if not Bama. Oh well. Best of luck to him. You never know what can happen. Maybe he'll enter the portal in a couple years and come home, now that he's gotten his paycheck.

For the record, Simmons had nothing to do with it. Simmons was a response to losing out on Caldwell and he took less money than Auburn was gonna pay bc Bama was his first choice. He's not a scholarship-only guy, but he's also not commanding much money. Probably rev share only, no NIL. He's a guy we'd have taken even if we got Sales bc he's a fill out the roster type of guy, who also happens to have some upside.

his upside is key. the kid is a baller and fans will be very happy with his pledge. watch his film and you walked away wondering why he isn't ranked higher. what gets lost in the conversation on Simmons is he's also the #1 WR in the state. furthermore, he's a track guy with elite speed to go along with his skill set.
just to make things very clear, he is no consolation prize!

Sales is Indiana’s highest recruit ever and an in state guy. There was absolutely no way a Saban disciple was going to let the top rated in state guy leave after a national championship run.

Yeah, the arrogance of the coaches will be their downfall. I see them going 8-4, maybe 7-5. Cignetti will go down in history as the Vanilla Ice of college football: a one-hit wonder.

It will come down to getting this high priced talent and transfers to buy into his way, in the same way those proven winners at lower tiers did.

Or, simply put, can he figure out how to stay on the top of the mountain?

Indiana's (and Cig's) biggest issue is now they are circled on everyone in the B1G's schedule.

To give credit where credit is due, that was an amazing "team" they had last year. Even in the pre-NIL/transfer era,
it was hard to repeat even when you had the best team (i.e.: Bama in '10, Bama in 2013 (for a 3 peat), Bama in 18 with Tua still under center!).

Now, enter NIL/transfer and if you manage to build a great team one year, good on you, but then try to replicate that the next year. Good luck.

I'm still on the "Cig is good but got lucky" train last year. I'll eat crow if he wins another one and admit I'm wrong, but I just do not see "Indiana football" becoming dominant even if they can outbid Alabama or Texas or Ohio St. or UM or "whoever u."
