How many scholarship positions will yall have for the 2007, 2008, and 2009 classes? Just curious to see where yall stand as far as how many recruits you'll sign in the upcoming classes. I thought about posting on the recruiting board, but it seems like it'll just get covered up by all the football stuff.

We currently have 10 or 11 players on scholarship. I say 11 because I understand walk-on John Dill may have been given a scholarship for the spring semester.

I suspect that's about right, given no more injuries or defections (which I expect any more of right now). And it's OK to put it here. The reason there's a separate recruiting board for FB is simply the amount of traffic. That's just not true with BB...

Kinda amazing that we only have 1 SR and 1 JR who has played in the league before. A few more might help some on those road games.

We should be able to find 4 pretty good players to sign next year. Gottfried was Montgomery last night watching JaMycheal Green play. I question the competition he faces, but he definitely has the body to play in the SEC.

There are some big-time prospects in Alabama over the next few years. UAB and Alabama are both recruiting JaMychal Green and Xavier Gibson for the 2008-2009 class actually. What's the deal with Andrew Steele? I had seen some reports indicate initially that he had committed to Alabama, but neither Scout nor Rivals indicate this.

Also, both are recruiting DeMarcus Cousins out of Erwin HS in Birmingham in the 2009-2010 class. He's (so far) the #1 overall recruit on Rivals... but of course that can certainly change between now and when he graduates.
