Scott Cochran is Leaving for Georgia

I'm not familiar with the details of Feld's program, but let's not imply it isn't scientific or even a good program without evidence. It's my opinion that's Feld's youth and relatively limited experience was a factor.
I’m not implying that at all, my implication is that if you watch CAF’s videos you see another loud character. Another motivational type guy with spiked hair and the handlebar mustache. A character if you will. Kind of like CSC , I’m sure his teachings are grounded in sound principles And education.
But in CDB , in the videos I have watched you get a more subdued coach, more straight forward , matter of fact type guy. plus a Dr of Kinesiology , Dr Matt Rhea, that has been published many times, who’s specialty is speed and injury prevention. a packaged deal. It just looks like there will be more emphasis on sports science than Pure motivational workouts! A little more cerebral approach! This may be a totally wrong perception.

Thanks for clarifying. Sorry to have misunderstood.

A pay cut...…………….hmm......…......I would have thought he could command a comparable sum as his previous spot

Well, to get a job as an ST Coach with virtually no experience....

(This thread needs to die, but I wanted to respond to this. )

I have taken a pay cut a few times in my life for an opportunity to advance my career.

True, but I would have figured UGA would have shown him the love for leaving Saban......………..

They were paying their last ST coach that left with Pittman to Ark $325,00 so they are paying him $200,000+ more than the previous coach.

And a salary equal to the highest paid ST coach in CFB. Insane!

...and every one of those TOP 10 compensated ST coaches also coaches another on-field group.
Think about that...paid more than all but one, and they're equal, and he's the ONLY one without any additional duties. He's a liability before he gets started...takes up basically TWO spaces and gets top dollar...

That's a lot of money just to be douchey...

Don't just post link... There are lot of gems in the article that left me speechless.

“He made his mind up, ‘I’m leaving, I’m done with the strength thing and dealing with Coach Saban,’" a source with knowledge of the situation said. “Once you do that, when the (Ole Miss) thing didn’t happen, when you go back, you find all the problems magnified.”

The advice from Saban was that if Cochran wanted to become a special teams coach, he should start attending Alabama’s special teams meetings and invest time into learning the intricacies of the position. Cochran left the conversation upset and convinced he wouldn’t be getting an on-field opportunity at Alabama given he believed he had already spent a lot of time around special teams.

It was part of growing friction between Saban and Cochran that seemed to come to a head around that point. Cochran was mentally ready to leave after the Ole Miss situation. Saban, meanwhile, had concerns about numbers and results from a strength and conditioning standpoint and wanted tweaks made to the program. Sources said Saban began “riding Cochran mercilessly in front of staff."
At this point, Cochran was even more determined to find an on-field opportunity elsewhere. Cochran pursued job opportunities with Michigan State and the New York Giants but neither worked out, per sources.

Lot of takes here. Cochran was so determined to be on the field coach that he forgot to run S&C program. This articles explain lot of things that happened over the years. This make Conchran looks bad.
