Game Thread: SEC Basketball Tournament (Non Bama Game Threads)

Huh? Ole Miss lost 12 of 13 down the regular season stretch. That is playing well???
If you watched them play down the stretch at all, they played everyone close and you could tell they were improving. Now, they've beaten a bubble team and a NCAA tourney team in Nashville. They were a Sweet 16 team last year, had their most key player back (Dia), and they have one of the best coaches in the nation, a Final 4 coach; so yeah, they are definitely on the upswing.

There's a good clip of Bruce Pearl showing his hindquarters from the stands as NepoBoy's team yakked up a 19-0 run to UTe yesterday.

Some strong language, so I can't link it. But an easy Google search will turn it up quickly.

And this lying snitch (or it is snitching liar?) lectures us on morality. It's actually funny.

A year from now his son will be receiving a nice buyout check from the barn.

I will have to take your word for it. I don’t follow Ole Miss closely enough to know they are playing well while losing 12 of 13.

Kind of funny though that folks here keep telling me how poorly Bama is playing while winning and now Ole Miss is playing really well while losing. 🤷‍♂️

Maybe you're getting caught up in the language. Maybe "hot" was the wrong word. But teams can change over the course of a season. And they were absolutely improving. I watch a lot of basketball so I could see it in their games when I flipped over on them. And Storr and Dia can be absolute tough matchups because of their size and activity. But you could see their play building to what is happening in Nashville. And don't forget they beat us at home last year. So, dangerous may have been a better word. Is that acceptable?

Like father, like son.

Catching up from yesterday:

Vandy defeats Rocky Top 75-68 and will play Florida today in the first Semifinal game.

Ole Miss defeated Bama in a close one...80-79 and will face Arkansas today in the second Semifinal game.

And in the last of yesterdays Quarterfinal games.....Arkansas defeats Oklahoma in a close one...82-79....and as noted above, will now play Ole Miss in the 2nd Semifinal game today.

Once again...the updated bracket:

Two years ago we saw Micah Handlogten laying on the floor with a broken leg in the Finals against Auburn.

Worked his tail off in the off season recovering from that broken leg.

Then last season as we we dealing with some injured players, Micah made the decision to burn his medical red shirt and play - and in part because of his selflessness - we won a National Championship.

He's been a big part of this year's success but it's worth noting he played his best game ever yesterday including this play.....

Vandy dominates Florida to take the win 92-74 and will play either Arkansas or Ole Miss in the Finals tomorrow.

Hat tip & CONGRATS to Vandy - they played as good on defense as you'd want and were lights out on their shooting incl. 10-21 (48%) on 3's!
went for a long hike and completely missed this.

So did the refs help Vandy? Didn’t get to watch, was working HS baseball games. Heard about the score late and looked at the box score and saw a few UF starters with 4 fouls. Seemed suspicious.
