SEC Super Conference?

I know this has probably been kicked around at some previous point in time. But since we are in the slow time and somewhat bored, here’s another hypothetical to play with. If you were in charge of realigning the SEC into a 14 –team super conference, what would YOUR conference model look like? Realistic or not, you can see mine below:

Then why take in USM, they can't currently sell out their HS stadium.

Vandy can't get the boot, as they're a charter member.
Not sure about msu.
As for your scenario, I can't see it happening. Assuming they don't 'kick out' msu, and since they can't Vandy, that would put three D1 schools in the same conference in both tennessee and mississippi. That won't happen.

I would like something like this:
West:
Alabama

East:
Florida
Florida St
Georgia
Ga Tech
South Carolina

Kentucky

If fsu were to prove impossible, I would have louisville as an alternate for the east.

USM is always a competitive team - no matter whom they play. Put them in a conference like the SEC and their fan base and national interest increases immediately and overnight. Thus so does their HS stadium ticket sales. Maybe I'm no expert. Maybe you are.

After the LY trial and the Means mess, I don't want Memphis anywhere near the conference. Adding Tomy West and Memphis would be like adding more gasoline to a fire already burning out of control.

Add 1 of the ACC schools from Va. or NC and a big 12 school from Tx. This would get the SEC in 2 different areas in the South.

I'm not trying to come off as an expert. USM's stadium only has a capacity of 30,000 or therebouts and they failed to sell it out a few years ago against Nebraska. They have nothing to add to the SEC.

Someone else mentioned Houston. That would be a great addition to the SEC. Huge television market and one of the best recruiting areas in the nation.

if we're going to dream, then let's dream big...

let's take the Big 12 Conference and merge them with the SEC...pull out of the ncaa and form our own association...we make a very own rules and regulate ourselves...this would be 24 of the very best teams in America...and yes we need vandy, miss st, baylor, kansas, misury, and ole miss in the mix so everyone can have an occasional off day...

the Big 12 would be the West Conference and the SEC the East Conference...play 6 teams in your Conference and 6 teams from the other conference (roatating schedule)...the teams with the best conference record plays for the Big Southeastern Conference Championship...

we wouldn't need anyone else...however, if other conferences like the Pac 10 and the Big 10 + 1 wanted to play, we'd figure out a way to let them in...otherwise, the ncaa and everyone else could go to a hot place and play phatti - cake man...
