Well, I haven't been as successful as I had hoped the past couple weeks, especially in the 1A and 6A classifications, but here's hoping the semifinal outlook will be a little more accurate.

Class 6A:
Undefeated Daphne (13-0) travels to Auburn (8-5) to take on a surprise Cubbie team that has been this year's Cinderella team at the state's largest classification. Auburn came away with a convincing win over a good Baldwin County team, but Daphne will be a step up in terms of strength. Daphne is looking to avenge last year's championship game loss to Hoover, and an upstart bunch from Lee County won't be able to spoil their run.
The pick: Daphne

Hoover (13-0) at Huffman (13-0): Hoover keeps rolling right along, and Huffman continues to prove me wrong. In a battle of undefeated teams, Coach Rush Propst's Hoover Bucs will face off against their toughest opponent this season. Coming off a win over previously unbeaten Tuscaloosa County, Huffman is looking to be the surprise team in 6A. This will be an excellent matchup, but Hoover has an edge in playoff experience, and will move on to the Super Six for a rematch with the Daphne Trojans.

Class 5A
Briarwood Chritian (12-1) takes on Benjamin Russell (11-2) in what should be an interesting contest. Tim Castille scored the lone touchdown in a 10-0 shutout of Wilcox Central last weekend for Briarwood, while Benjamin Russell is coming off a drubbing of Region 1 champ Robertsdale. This one will not be short on excitement.
The pick: Briarwood Christian

Homewood (13-0) at Russellville (13-0): Russellville has had an impressive run thus far, but they have faced no opponent as powerful as the Homewood Patriots. Although Russellville has the home-field advantage, look for Homewood to dispose of them with relative ease.
The pick: Homewood

Just the thought of Daphne-Hoover/Briarwood-Homewood rematches brings a big smile on my face!

Those will be some great final games if it plays out that way!

I am a little less convinced that Huffman isn't getting by Hoover.
I just don't know how I feel about that game.

I tend to lean in the other direction tidehawk.
I think Briarwood has what it takes to get to the finals.......

I guess we'll just all have to wait and see.
