I don't know specifically about Michigan, but in the two states I do know about, stalking cases can be made up of activities over a couple of days, or even less. And in this case it may stretch back to what he was doing before she called it quits.

You would be amazed what people will do. Or at least I still am. Repeated phone calls, 100s of texts, driving by the house repeatedly, threats like "I'm watching what you do," etc. can make up enough to get the indictment.

In many cases the stalking charge is just leverage for the DA to get the stalker to agree to and abide by a restraining order. They basically suspend prosecution of the stalking charge and if the creep shows up again (which they, sadly, often do) they resurrect it and try to get a judge to throw the book at them.

I think it is worth noting that she has an attorney . If this all blew up this week. Did she hire an attorney when Michigan began snooping or did she just feel the need to contact one.
