Considering Michigan and Harbaugh have been found guilty of both recruiting violations and cheating by stealing signs as well as attending opponents' practices on spying missions, should their natty not be suspect?

Yes, their team was excellent but by violating recruiting regulations they got the advantage to sign players that helped them win that title, including beating Bama in the semifinal.

I am not questioning the effort of the Michigan players to win games, but I am questioning the lengths to which the coaching staff and others took to ensure their unbeaten season.

Would be interested on others thoughts on this.

If it had been Alabama, we would have gotten the Death Penalty.

Only way that anybody would care is if the NCAA suddenly showed interest in violations and levied some penalties.

That should be in blue font because we know it won't happen.

Michigan was just careless enough to get caught.

Some guy from Alabama just got a lifetime ban from Mississippi casinos. The media made it sound like a badge of honor. There's only eight or so that currently have the lifetime band. He must have prospered cheating.

So I get from the comments so far is:

1. It depends who you are if you get punished. In this case it's Meechigan so nowt is done to them.

2. If the media like you they won't make a fuss so the NCAA likely won't do anything.

They won it on the field, cheating or otherwise. they beat some very good teams to do it so no asterisk.
Sure does make it easier to win when you know what play is coming.

Their cheating had more of a direct impact to the on field play then say paying recruits or selling text books. Which plenty of teams have had to vacate wins for over the years. But it's all okay, no harm no foul.

I never had much animosity towards UM but the the big blue can suck it. They are Auburn level hate for me now. Not quite UcheaT or ND level but definitely barn level.

Like most who revel in their hubris, they got tired of losing so they became the very thing they were so against (and what was so beneath them to be).

Yes, they cheated. They never should have been in the playoff at all. Never should have been eligible to play for the Big Ten championship either.

But having said all of that, I am still utterly disappointed in how we completely gave that game away to them. I don't think they "cheated" to beat us. They just waited long enough for us to shrink away from the moment. They were a far tougher minded team than we were.

Were they sign-stealing this season?

I honestly don't know.
