It seems to me every year there is some surprise team that always ruins everybody's bracket. Even though the brackets aren't out yet, I was wondering who everybody has their eye on. who do you think might be that sleeper team this year. Even though this isn't a surprise team I think VILLANOVA will go far in the tourney. There defense is excellent and they are on an eight game winning streak. I always like circling those teams that are on a roll and starting to peak right before the tournament. So, whose your surprise team this year?

Oakland looks to be out for blood! Wow, with their record I just hope they enjoy their brief tourney stay.

But for real, I think that Utah, West Virginia, and Iowa State could suprise some folks. Pacific also makes me cringe for their first and possibly second round opponents.

If you call a team not currently ranked in the top 25 a sleeper, Memphis fits that bill very well. I'll call LSU a sleeper due to the fact I'd rather sleep than watch.

West Virginia...

Tops my list. They absolutely took it to Nova after defeating Boston College less than 24 hours earlier. Also, the way NC State drummed Wake today has me thinking they could also cause some bracket problems. I don't believe we will see LSU do a lot of bracket damage because refs call NCAA tourney much closer than regular season. Conclusion: Bass/Davis won't have their way as much as usual in the paint area.
