Softball 2026-expectations?

Top of 5th. White strikes out on ankle high pitch, 1 down. Slow roller to first, 2 down. Wells strikes out for the third out. Pickens is eating our lunch and asking for seconds right now. Looks like we picked a bad weekend to have a bad series.

Bottom of 5th: ground out to short, 1 down. Briski walks the next batter on 5 pitches. Runner on 1st, 1 down.

Bottom of 5th - continued: strike out for 2nd out. runner of first, 2 down. Base hit to right field. Tennessee now has runners on 1st and 3rd, two down.

Bottom of 5th continued: Line drive base hit to LF, run scores. Now 4-0 Tennessee. We need to change up what Briski is throwing because they are lighting her up right now.

Bottom of the 5th continued: Tennessee has runners on 1st and 2nd, 2 down. Hot line drive to 3rd snared by Taylor for the 3rd out. Good thing she caught it, or it would be another run.

BAMA has two more at bats to try and do something, but right now we don't look very sharp at the plate. 4-0 Tennessee after 5 complete.

Top of 6th: ground ball to the pitcher, 1 down. Giles strikes out on 3 pitches. 2 down. Vandagriff strikes out swinging. We're hardly even fouling balls off. Pickens is just kicking out butts - BIG TIME.

If Tennessee has these two pitchers throw like this the rest of the year, no one will beat them. We choked away our chance to win this series yesterday.

Bottom of 6th: Pallozzi in to pitch for BAMA: ground ball to 3rd, 1 down. Nice play by Taylor. HBP, 1 on for Tennessee, 1 down. ground ball to 2B, out a 1st. Runner on 2nd, 2 down. ground out to SS, inning over.

Last chance for BAMA coming up. Tennessee leads 4-0 after 6 complete. Will we be shut out for the second game in a row. I hope not.

Top of 7th: Hubbard pinch hits and goes yard to put BAMA on the board. Now 4-1 Tennessee. Taylor reaches. BAMA now has 1 on, no outs. Taylor advances to 2b on wild pitch. Tennessee challenging if Taylor left early. Doesn't look like it, but they're taking a long time. Call stands. Hawkins strikes out swinging at two bad pitches. 1 down. White strikes out with hardly much of a swing. 2 down. Pupillo strikes out to end the game.

BAMA loses their first series of the year. Did you have to lose it to Tennessee? Our ladies need to get in the batting cage. I don't know how you go from scoring 12 runs in game 1 to barely scoring a run in the next two games. If we don't get the 7th inning dinger we get shut out for two straight games. Maybe we got some big heads after game 1. Whatever has gone wrong, we need to fix it. Bad series for BAMA.

Well we’ve finally had it happen. We out scored UT and lost a series for the first time this year. Hopefully we can rebound this weekend.
