My initial take is that SI has some cajónes in doing this given the hatchet job they did on us / Coach Stallings during the Langham issue and subsequent NCAA smoking gun stupidity.

btw, who even reads SI anymore? I used to literally read every page of it until Aug 1995 and canceled it then when the hatchet job Bama Busted issue came out and Coach said they didn't even try to talk to him. They made a TON of money on the 92 championship issue (and re-issues)

Needless to say, as for me and my house, we won't be visiting (or investing in) SI Resort. I would encourage all of you to follow your Bama conscience, as well.

This sounds incredible.

I just wonder how it'll be profitable outside of 3 or 4 months out of the year though?

Not gonna lie. I think this sounds stupid. A “resort” in Tuscaloosa? Lol. This isn’t Vegas.
Yet, Bama Rush girls are spending $20K on OOTD :D

Who's to say what's a resort and what isn't?

I've always thought of T-town as Football Mecca. We have $2mm+ condos next to the stadium (and elsewhere)... who woulda thunk it? (and, btw, remember we have CNS to thank for all of this exposure and bling bling - directly or indirectly! :D )

People from up north will love the heat and humidity in the summer.
There's some truth to that. I've got a sister-in-law from Indiana who lives in Alabama now and she complains about the start of fall every year because she likes it hot.

I just can't understand it. I hate hot weather!!! But maybe it's because I grew up in the south!

Whoever believed the feasibility study should be strung up. Football is maybe 21 days a year (7 home games, three days max each). Interest accrues and investors demand a return 365 days a year.

I love Tuscaloosa. I live here. I don't see this as a profitable venture. Plus, they'll probably get it completed (if they break ground at all) about the time Saban retires.

If they think there won't be a downturn in the Tuscaloosa economy when that happens, I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I need to sell cheap....you know, for tax purposes.
