Starbucks

Slab - Wal-Mart coffee?

Ay mi madre! I think I know the Brazilian factory that makes that stuff. They made Walgreen's private label and it was N-A-S-T-Y.

Folger's doesn't have that kick to it.

If you know what I mean?

Can someone explain the appeal of Starbucks and why two cups of Frappucrappa costs $9?

Free market!!!

The Frappucinos are pretty tasty, sort of like a coffee flavored milkshake. Heck, DQ gets you for about $6 a pair on Blizzards.

All the big production brands use beans that create high acidity coffee. My acid reflux can't handle it; so I go with arabian blends (Moka Java, Moka Sanai (sp?)). Low acidity - plus, they're tasty.

20 bucks for Kona is a great price - wonder if its a blend at that price?

I have the same problem. Coffee was killing me and I loved coffee. Now most mornings I drink hot herbal tea instead and I am just as satisfied. When I do drink coffee I want it to be good coffee. My favorite coffee brand is Community Dark Roast.

I doubt if it's a blend. You can order Kona online.

I got mine straight from the big island.

I think I lied......it was $22 a lb. But d#mn worth it.

A couple of years ago, I was almost O.D.'ing on caffeine. The doctor ordered me off caffeine......so I had to go decaf.

I've only recently started treating myself to caffeinated coffee on the weekends. I still miss the buzz, but I don't miss staying up all night in agony.

I love Starbucks coffee, but not the price. I make it at home. Sam's Club has a 2.5 lb. bag of House Blend for about $17. That will last me for weeks. Even if you buy the 12oz packages at Target or Wal-Mart for $6.50, it's still a lot cheaper than buying it every day at a Starbucks store. Some of the Millstone varieties are pretty good, too.

IMO, their coffee is much better than Maxwell House or Folgers, which is my least favorite.

Yeah and for less than 10 you can buy a cheap knife and a sack of potatoes and make French Fries instead of going to McDonalds but I doubt you consider McDonald's snob food Pachy :)
