Talking Season 2026

View attachment 58038I mean when Nike puts you as the front man, that tells me politics has made it very clear who’s preferred. Same deal with JM and the LANK coalition in 2023-24.
I don't understand what you are referring to regarding politics. I think Nike management are betting on Russell being the starter at some point in his career and think he will be a popular player for marketing their product. I doubt Nike has influence on the Bama coaching staff in this matter.

Not saying they do, but it does make you wonder why Austin Mack is not up there.

Reactions: day-day
Step one is not routinely having plays where one guy is bowled over, one guy blocks air, one guy tried to block three rushers, and one guy whiffs on air as a faster guy runs a circle around him, and the final guy looks confused and just stands there as a guy rushes right past him. It happened way too often.
So that’s not good?

Does anyone care about media days anymore? It used to be such a big deal
Nick made media days for us Tide Fans. He is such a fantastic communicator and seemed there was always something to glean from his words as he normally spoke to his team through the media. I really like CKD but I'd prefer doing just about anything else rather than listen to him speak. So media days has gone the way of fax cam girl on signing day.

Most of these coaches nowadays are utterly boring. Nick Saban was the GOAT in a lot ways, including as a public speaker (in the realm of coaches, not necessarily ALL public speakers).

On the plus side, our rivals don't get anything out of it either...;)

I know, I know, but I'm a glass half full kind of thinker.

That was a designed offensive scheme used by many NFL teams. We just didn’t execute. Coach Kap got the blame , and rightfully so, but it wasn’t all scheme. On a side note. I read where Olas Alinen is doing well in Lexington .

I was just watching the SEC media days yesterday and I just started thinking about Coach Saban being must see tv during this week. These guys now are young and none of them commands the respect that Saban did.

I really enjoy him being on Gameday now. It makes the show somewhat watchable because he is very charismatic in general and he still conveys a lot of on and off the field wisdom.

Really a one of a kind individual and we were so lucky to have him thanks Coach Mal Moore.

Bielema lol. Much easier to get up for 3 games a year coach. This from a guy that stank it up on a regular bases in hog land. That minor detail ruins my perception of his intelligence quotient.

Didn't Bielema shove one of our players and then try to get a foul called on them?
