This has been a painful week for college football fans. The news has been disturbing and depressing, and we might not have heard the worst yet. It has been helpful, at least to me, to be able to come here and discuss the events that are ongoing. Matters of such catastrophic consequence require soul-searching, and it is difficult to separate the emotional and rational reactions. I appreciate the fact that I can get information, perspective, and opinion from people that I trust, and vent a little anger and frustration at the same time.

I wanna thank the mods for their efforts over the last couple weeks, in keeping things as close to normal for us regulars as possible. I think things will futher "settle" after this weekends game and we can move on to other things.

Yes, thank you. It's a strange sense of friendship you develop amongst others on the board that you don't know and have never met. At times like this it's good to be able to talk things out with your friends and be heard. Even though we don't all agree on things it gives us a chance to speak, be heard and hear what others have to say.

Thanks again mods for making this honestly the best board on any subject on the internet.

Amen to that!!! There is no such thing as to much appreciation for the mods here. As someone who has frequented many boards and forums I can say that I always feel like I am returning home when coming back to TF from another board. Thanks for everything that ya'll do!!!

This is so true! I, too, go 'window shopping' on other boards, but it doesn't take me long to realize I'm in the basement on some! There are times (quite frequently, I might add) that the language and disrespect for each other is more than I can handle. Some just have a very limited vocabulary, which makes me question their intention of posting to begin with. 😁 This is when I know it's time to get back to TF where respect and quality conversations are the standard because of the way it's maintained. Kudos to everyone involved!

A member made the point that Tidefans can be very therapeutic after a loss. When someone becomes more critical than your own views, a protection mode kicks in and you end up defending the coaches and players which neutralizes your initial disapointments. It's kind of a selfish way to recover, but it works. Thanks Tidefans

Great thread, JDA -

Being as far removed as I am from the "pulse" of Bama / NCAA football, I must echo your sentiments about the degree to which I appreciate the selfless, quiet, behind-the-scenes work by all those you mention, who make this board the fabulous place to be that it is.

So my sincerest thanks to all of your kind selves...
