On December 13, 2025, a mass shooting occurred at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, United States, during the second day of final examination week for the fall semester.

4:05 p.m. EST, a single gunman shot eleven people in the School of Engineering's Barus and Holley Building, which also houses the university's physics department.

Two people were killed and nine wounded in the shooting. All were Brown students.

The dead were identified as Ella Cook, a parishioner at the Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham, Alabama, and vice president of Brown's College Republicans, and Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov, a recent graduate of Midlothian High School in Chesterfield County, Virginia, who immigrated to the United States from Uzbekistan as a child.

So far the shooter has not been identified nor apprehended.

The FBI issued a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the alleged gunman in Saturday’s fatal mass shooting, as members of the bureau's Boston Division aided the Providence Police Department in their search for the assailant.

A $50K reward?

If they are serious about getting this guy - they need to demonstrate it by an appropriate reward.

Also, this reward was offered by the FBI. So this is our tax dollars.

I have no problem with that - but where is Brown University's reward?

Aren't they LOADED?

Shouldn't Brown University be offering something like a $500K reward?

A certain family member of mine tonight is pulling some serious overtime.

What has probably broken through to the public is that the police are convinced the Brown and MIT shooter are the same person, more so than they’re letting on publicly. It’s not conclusive, but it’s pretty good odds.

Of course, with a complete imbecile running the FBI, that collection of misfits was still dismissing that idea until just a few hours ago.

Let’s just say that the modern version of the FBI and the police departments in New England are not exactly working together as is portrayed in the movie “patriots Day.” Instead of John Goodman and Kevin Bacon, it’s more like Lou Costello and Gil Grissom.

That hits close to home in another way; when my contracts were in northern Massachusetts, Salem was where I did all of my grocery shopping and bought my gas because it was cheaper.

Salem, NH, not the famous one.

I wonder if he plugged himself at one of those sheds outside of the Walmart.

Not so sure that the public is going to get the entire story while an investigation is in progress.

Nor should they.

Now would I want them to.

I'll withhold judgement until I know more, myself.

I do wonder why the Mayor and AG felt the need to insert themselves into the press conferences. They added nothing, from what I saw. Except to say there's no danger to the public - even tough the shooter was still at large.

Plenty of blame to go around about things that could have been handled better but calling out the FBI here is a little weak, IMHO.

Carry on........

Patel is from all I've read, incompetent for the position he holds. Combine that with what is no doubt intense pressure from the White House to find evidence for the narrative they want to result from this... And his position is quite untenable.

Noted that the suspected shooter is from Portugal as was the MIT professor who was killed...both are about the same age and both studied in the same field -- physics -- and at probably the same time (my conjecture.). I do believe they knew each other... The professor killed was absolutely brilliant.

I wonder what the motive was for that and the Brown shooting.

Trying to catch up today on some of the details.

A person named "John" was apparently living in a basement at the University and actually saw the shooter and interacted with him prior to the shooting and because he was able to identify the car the shooter was driving authorities were eventually able to ID and find the shooter.

"John" responded on Reddit to the request for the public's help.

By the time authorities located the shooter - he had already been dead for 48 hours by self-inflicted means...is that right?

Waiting for more forensics.

Kash Patel has one job: to keep Donald Trump out of the Iron Hotel.

That's it.

And if he has to break the law to do it, there's a pardon already signed and in the desk drawer.
