Reports are that UGA running back Caleb King will be ineligible for the 2011 season due to academic issues. After Ealey's departure earlier this year, the Isaiah Crowell Era is officially underway in Athens.

Mark Richt must be a prophet since he said Crowell would get the first carry.

Makes our RB depth woes fell a whole lot better. Could always be worse, we could be down to one true freshman, as opposed to having to All Conference caliber guys and little behind them.

Crowell is a kid that I really wanted to see at Alabama. We will be fine at RB, but I really wish Crowell were in Tuscaloosa now. I think he's going to be an outstanding RB.

Hey, I appreciate the fact crowell considered us in his recruitment. that being said, he is gonna get his butt kicked this year. He's a freshman behind a bad OL. I feel for ya son. Good luck

Richt needs to win this year and win big, especially beating Florida. He seems to be putting his coaching future in the hands of a bunch of true freshmen to get UGA back on track. It might work but any team that starts quite a few true freshmen is going to take their lumps that year. I don't care how talented they are, most true freshmen simply aren't ready to start and make plays on a consistent basis. UGA has another 7-5 or 6-6 season, I can't see how Richt keeps his job.

The most glaring problem with Georgia is depth and key positions. Georgia will tell everyone and their sister that they DON'T OVERSIGN!!

Ok, but that puts such a premium on appraising both talent and character. Mark Richt's classes are almost always highly ranked. But his team has been on a steady decline. And one of the reasons appears to be his can't miss kids consistently miss. He has brought in a long list of knuckleheads at key positions, particularly running back. Offensive lineman from Georgia high schools are on rosters all over the SEC, yet Richt's hand-picked choices have been mediocre, and there's is absolutely no depth behind them.

Good class last year, sure. But the flagship university in one of the most talent-rich recruiting states in the country is patching holes with true freshmen. Georgia's schedule sets up well for them next year, but I don't see how they win more than eight games.
