The controversy is about someone having a knee-jerk reaction to a marginally clever play on words. If American Eagle had any sense, they'd develop followup ads with Halle Berry, Fan BingBing, Salli Richardson, Vanessa Hudgens, etc.
I'm guessing that is probably already in the works. 🤷‍♂️

It appears that obtaining a tan in the summer is now off limits to people with caucasian ancestry. Who knew.
1. Some "leftist Tik-Tok-ers" blew a gasket. Hardly representative of the left as a whole.
2. I'd be more concerned about Dunkin's incredibly mid doughnuts.

The fact they would have to consider doing that is a/the problem. Like I said above, mental illness runs rampant in our country.

The problem isn't because she's beautiful. It's because she's white. We've "progressed" as a society that the simple act of having an attractive white person in an ad by themselves is an act of racism, microaggression, and promotes white supremacy. That's what the author got out of that ad. Mental illness runs wild in our country.
The first thing the Nazis did was try to sell everyone jeans. These are dangerous times.

Actually the controversy isn’t what the article makes it out to be. The controversy seems to be centered around one particular commercial of many that this girl did. The one that they are popping of about is one where she is monologuing on genetics and switching back and forth between “genes” and “jeans”. At one point she says “genes are passed down from parent to offspring determining hair color, eye color, and personality”.

While it’s way overblown… couldn’t they have picked a girl who wasn’t blonde and blue eyed to say it? Or maybe the dumb controversy was the promotion they were looking for in the first place.

What in hell for? All 3 of my kids have blonde hair and blue eyes. And I checked; not one of them fancies himself or herself a member of the master race.

lol. The Daily Show got on the “controversy” and destroyed all the dog whistlers from the right. Megyn got it the worst. But everyone else sounds like a crusty old man fawning over someone way too young for them.

Civil rights activist Robert Woodson slams bias in racial violence coverage | Fox News

The mainstream media in America has an alarming "worldview that Black Americans are always innocent victims," according to a prominent author and social commentator.

Robert L. Woodson Sr., who is Black and a longtime civil rights activist, penned an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday, urging the nation to "disregard race in how we judge one another" before it leads to "national ruin."

"When a mob violently attacked two people in downtown Cincinnati last [month], video of the beat-down spread across social media. But not a single major television network covered the story. It didn’t fit the mainstream media’s narrative about racial violence in America," Woodson wrote.

If the Cincinnati beatings had been done by white people on innocent black people, and the white crowd had been in the dozens with many filming and cheering, there would be BLM protests coast to coast breathlessly covered by the mainstream media with the crowd's videos on endless loop 60/60/24/7/365.

As it is, it's not news. And the MSM doesn't understand why the general public trusts them literally less than used car salespeople.

Remember the old saw that a dog biting a man isn't news, but a man biting a dog is? I don't believe that the MSM thinks this sort of behavior is simply to be expected from the black population and therefore really isn't news. But that's a logically valid interpretation of their silence.

Guessing nobody in the newsrooms thought about that.

One of two things is true here. Either (1) the MSM believes that this is normal behavior for the black population and therefore not newsworthy, or (2) the MSM is covering up an inconvenient challenge to their worldview. I think it's #2. But their silence is deafening.

If you want to know what the left really thinks of minorities in general and black folks in particular, just listen to them rail against voter ID. They genuinely believe that minorities are either too helpless or too stupid to do anything for themselves. And does the media do anything to dissuade such an ignorant outlook? No.

I'm going with door #2. It's obvious by how they report and don't report.
