My Auburn co-workers speculated that they fired their coach so quickly to try and beat us to the punch in going after Bruce Pearl.
I don't think Bruce Pearl is on the AD's Radar, if there is a change made. I'd rather lose with a chance of having a better team, than to have to explain another Bruce Pearl BBQ to the NCAA.
I for one MISS CMG, i said it then and I'll say it now WE SHOULD OF KEPT HIM. Ok, now thats out of the way, we need a new coiach badly.. Our team has the Poorest offensive scheme I think Ive ever seen.. CAG can't keep our best players, and the ones he recruits are a joke.. Engstrom and Randolph in particular.. I can do nothing but laugh when i watch the 7 foot swede get out rebounded by a 6 ft 4 sf.. Randolphs skills arnt that impressive either, the kid can barely make a layup. What I wouldn't give for a T mitchell power slam and a J green post move.. This has been the first time in my life Ive tried not to watch bama basketball, its way to painstaking. I think we should FIRE grant and go after Bruce pearl before the barn does... Forget the 4 or 5 million buyout, we have the money. CBP could turn our program around and doing so would cover his new contract, and CAG buyout.. No guts nO glory...
You're right. We should have kept the guy with off the court issues. Who cares how he embarrasses his alma mater.

Shouldn't that have been in blue.

I don't want Bruce Pearl for other reasons. I believe he's an overrated coach. He never won the league or tourney. His best NCAA was a sweet 16 (while @ UT). He had a sub 500 record against all their rivals including us. He's a good coach not a great one. Add to this a NCAA violations. I don't see what the fuss is about. He's not an elite level coach.
I don't want Pearl at UA either but I disagree that he is not a good coach. Here is a quote from an article on al.com:
"Pearl led Tennessee to six straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including an Elite Eight finish and back-to-back Sweet Sixteen appearances during his six-year stay with the Volunteers."
That's pretty impressive in my book and doesn't even consider the success he had as a coach prior to the UT job.
And we have our answer: Battle asks for support for Coach Grant.
