The Harmon Forecast - Arkansas

I like how we match up with the Hawgs. Especially since our special teams have done a 180 degree turn from last year. The key will be maintaining Matt Jones. If we can get a jump on 'em, I think we can pull out a W.

Bama 28
Arkansas 24

I believe the defense knows that they will have to take up the slack, and they are hungry for revenge after they let a 21 point lead slip away last year.

I believe they will keep the score low, and if we can score at least one TD on defense, we will be fine.

The key to this game is not Brodie being out and Marc being in, it's Matt Jones and playing in Fayetteville, AR. Our coaching staff will come up with a gameplan for Marc to work with. It will be up to Marc not to force anything or make bad decisions. If we didn't have a sound running game, I would say that beating Arkansas at home would be a longshot w/o Brodie. However, the Hogs are prone to the run. Texas ran all over the Hogs defense and although we don't have a Cedric Benson, Hudson and Co. are no slouches. Our Defense has to contain Matt Jones for us to have a chance.

Not many people outside the Bama Nation expect us to win this game. I imagine CHN will put eight men in the box and dare us to beat them with the pass. I think Marc can do it and if we can have success passing the ball it will open up the running game. Defensively Bama Lee is right about containing Matt Jones. He is a very dangerous player but as he goes Arkansas goes. If we can limit his effectiveness we can win this game. It will be close throughout I think. My early prediciton is Us 20 Them 17 RTR!

I agree. The key is stopping Jones and keeping the hogs from scoring too much. I think this would be a tough game with or without Brodie. I think we'll go more with a power running game in an attempt to control the ball and keep Jones on the sideline. If we can do that we're in good shape. I think we'll score 21 or more. The question is, can we contain the hogs' offense and Matt Jones?

A win this weekend would be huge. We need to keep the momentum and confidence we've gained so far -- especially now that Brodie is not in the lineup.

Hell yes. I wish everyone would sell us short for every game the rest of the year. Unfortunately, once Marc Guillon makes his statement and we kick the hawgs in the dirt this weekend, we won't be taken for granted anymore.

I've seen enough of this BAMA team

to know they are on their toes, leaning forward. If this (Arkansas) game is a blowout, BAMA wins big. If not, then Arkansas is in for a fight. Either way, I'm looking forward to watching this one.

Have to echo these sentiments. I think our D is too strong for the oinkers especially with a specific gameplan to corral Jones. The key will be, I think, how the young WR react to MG and if they know enough to come back to him if he is in trouble. Again, it will be a big test for the O-line. Ole Miss is weaker than I first thought so this will be the first big test. No score but I think we can put up a W although it could be close
