I believe the odds do suggest that he survives . I won't like it because he was amazingly bad tonight IMO .

This season has sucked on many levels but , I really did enjoy seasons 1 , 2 , 4 & 5 . Mainly 1 , 2 & 4 . Additionally , having contestants from Alabama in seasons 2 , 3 , 4 & 5 was somewhat appealing .
God, Blake sucks.....but so does the talent of the entire show this year. I'm to the point of just not caring any longer.
Jack I throw no more money at Simon Cowell than my Direct TV bill and I have my choice of what to watch or not watch in that time slot thank you very much and I am completely capable of deciding on whether or not I am entertained.Why do you people continue to throw money at that twit Simon Cowell

I heard on a radio program yesterday that they have an insider to the show saying that the finale has been set with the three girls from Dreamgirls performing with the winner...Jordin. Hmmmmmmm. How's it already set up??:conf3:
They also talked with the person who developed the calling system that AI uses. He said they bought the least expensive system, because it allows them to delete multiple votes coming from the same number if they so choose.

I hated to see Doolittle go but I had a feeling the voters would go for a younger final two. I wanted Blake and Melinda in the final with Melinda winning, now I hope Blake wins because he has taken the most risks in his performances. Jordan can sing but Blake puts on a show.
I heard it yesterday on Howard Stern. Ever since Sanjaya got voted off they've been talking about the "fine print" at the end of the show that says something about the producers of AI reserving the right to discard certain votes. I don't know what criteria they would use, but I'm thinking they are getting to the point with this show where they're realizing that the younger, more attractive contestants are going to be the money-makers. Melinda Doolittle wasn't going to be a money-maker. At least with Jordin or Blake, the odds of big-time record sales and appealing to the younger demographic will translate into big money. Of course, Melinda will get a recording contract...she just isn't Idol material. Look at Ruben...where's he now? Fantasia is doing okay for herself, but is now on Broadway. Kelly and Carrie have been the biggest money-makers. I know we all have our different opinions and hopes - I voted for almost 2 hrs for Melinda Tuesday night - I told my hubby, I was afraid all my voting was in vain b/c the teeny boppers were gonna text blake into the final - I hate I was right on that. :eek2: I seriously do not believe I will watch it next week - thoroughly disgusted - or, if I do it will be just to get Jordin's #.
Savannah - Taylor Hicks won last year. I LOVE his CD - he is in Bham today playing in the Regions Charity Golf Classic. I heard a reporter say last week, his concerts were sold out so who knows. He will never be a Kelly or Carrie, but I think he is doing well.

I'm very disappointed that my favorite Melinda was voted off. I don't know how some of you get in to vote and vote so much b/c i can't even get in to vote ONCE. All the lines stayed busy.
However, as y'all say, she will do well, and I'll be pulling for Blake to win. I liked him from the beginning along with Melinda.

HT, gotta love satellite, dontcha? I love the fact that I can also listen online. I mute it when I've got a patient in the room, then listen for a few minutes between patients. Howard has been my guilty pleasure for about 14 years. :blush:
Thanks Bd! I'll have to check it out. I enjoyed his style when he was on the show, but just can't imagine the "mainstream" getting into him. I'm going to hop over to iTunes right now and see what I can download.
I love internet anonymity because I will not admit to many people that I've watched AI this season.
However, I must make my pick known... if Blake doesn't win, I'll be disappointed. I don't even care for him that much, but here's my take:
- Jordin's good, but seriously, there are about 15 Jordin's I could think of right now - pretty girls with very good voices.
- Even though he's not my favorite, I'm always interested to hear Blake's songs. He's never been boring.
- He's the most unique guy I remember seeing in all the seasons. He can take something kind of lame like beat boxing and makes it cool.
- I still think three years down the road, Blake is more likely to still have a music career.
It's still a shame Melinda went so early, but the writing was on the wall.
